I look back and forth between Sage and Rush. I'm speechless right now. This is the absolute last thing I expected.
Did my brother just say he met his mate?
I don't notice I've been silent for awhile until Sage's voice brings me back to reality.
"Are you alright?"
I focus my gaze on her concerned face before responding. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I was lost in my thoughts for a moment."
"It's fine, but are you feeling okay? You don't look too hot," she says. Come to think of it, I have been feeling kind of queasy this morning. Must have been my breakfast.
"I'll be fine. Thank you," I murmur, wiping the tears out of my eyes.
"I don't mean to intrude or anything, but did you tell her, Rush?"
I respond before Rush can even form words. "He apologized, but I have not yet accepted. I just need some time to think everything through and to get my head on straight. If that's okay with you, Rush?" I question, turning my gaze towards him and Sage does the same. Rush answers with a nod and lightly kisses my cheek. Sage is next to hug me and tell me how much of a pleasure it was to meet me before they exit into the outside.
I then finish making my way towards the stock room. Once there, I bring out the books and magazines for this week, setting them in the front window. When I'm finished, I venture to the phone by the cash register, dialing my mother's number.
"Hello," her soft voice greets.
"Hi, Mom. How are you?"
"Oh, hi, honey. I'm doing just fine, as is your father. How's your day?"
"Okay, I guess," I respond, but even I can hear the uncertainty in my voice.
"Sweetie, what's wrong? You can talk to me." I tell her everything that has happened these past few days, including Rush. She says she misses me and Rush and begs me to visit when I get the chance.

Later That Night...
"Come on, baby. Faster."
I speed up, my hips grinding faster before I feel the sensations between my legs expand and course through my body in waves. My hands on Nash's chest press deeper and my nails dig in. He hisses and his hands at my hips tighten as I throw my head back and cry out. Nash whips me onto my back, wrapping one of my legs around his hip, before he starts pounding into me and crushes his lips to mine. He reaches down to press and rub his thumb against my clit. I come again just from that, gasping. My second orgasm is more intense than the first, but the waves of pleasure steal my breath and bring tears to my eyes.
Holy s**t.
Reaching his own climax, Nash growls, the sound traveling down my throat. His head is tucked away in my neck when he raises it with a smile on his face. He brushes the sweaty strands of hair out my face and away.
"f**k. Honey, you got enough stamina to make a grown man jealous," Nash says, chuckling. He plants kisses along my forehead, cheek, and jaw then finally my lips.
I blush. "I do not, Nash," I replied, though, I knew it was not far from the truth. We had been at it for about three hours now.
"Do so. I never said that was a bad thing....just tell me something?" He asks, still smiling.
"What is it?"
"Is this going to be a normal thing or is it just this once? 'Cause I could get used to you being insatiable like this."
Oh, my.
He's teasing me now.
"Uhm..it's a normal thing. I was actually kind of buttering you up for what I need to tell you."
He looks at me with a question in his eyes and a confused expression on his face. "What?"
"Don't be mad, please."
I don't want Nash to be angry with me about me talking to Rush and Sage. It wasn't my fault they came into my bookstore. The last thing I want is Nash angry with me and Rush beaten to a pulp again.
"What is it, Layla?" He demands, his tone anxious.
"I spoke to Rush," I blurt out.
