"Batoor!" For a moment Jack was nonplussed. "You are the Khan?" Batoor placed his arm around Windrush"s shoulder. "Come, Windrush. Come into my home." "I am here on official business," Jack reminded. "Pleasure first, business later," Batoor said. "It must be four, five years since we parted outside the walls of Gondabad. Much has happened in that time. You have left your pultan, and I have become a Khan." He touched the silver hilt of the pulwar that protruded from an ornate scabbard at his waist. "As you see, I wear the silver sword of the Khan of the Rahmut Khel." "It is a beautiful sword." Jack tried to make sense of this new development as Batoor led him toward the nearest building. "Only the Khan can wear it." Batoor seemed as proud of his sword as he was of his position as Khan.
