CH.22

Hardin's pov

it's been a month since mine and Aspen's shower experience we've been playing around with each other more in the suite and my office, she has even grabbed me in the car. I'm happy that she is getting more comfortable with me we still haven't had s*x but it's ok I will gladly take what I am getting right now. Wyatt and Trini are going to be coming to visit in a couple of days but Aspen doesn't know. Wyatt is making good on the favor he owes me and is planning a romantic night for me and Aspen I want to propose but I can't do it around the packhouse because of the whole Daphanie thing so we will be staying at a hotel for the night Wyatt and Trini got a room for the night too. I'm out with Jakob and Annalynn right now to pick out a ring for Aspen while my mom is with Aspen out doing some shopping I saw it as the perfect moment to go since she asked if she could take my mom with her shopping. I can't believe I will be asking the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on to marry me in a few days. Blaze is extremely happy but won't tell me why even Aspen said last night that Sapphire was really excited but wouldn't tell her why. when we pulled up in front of the jewelry store Annalynn said,

"Hardin do you know what kind of ring you are wanting to get her?" I told her nothing too blingy and nothing too small she rolled her eyes and said "ugh men!"

we walked into the store and the salesperson greeted us and asked what kind of ring I was looking for but I couldn't give him a clear answer Annalynn walked up to the counter and said,

"sir what my i***t brother is saying is he is looking for something simple but elegant, a nice size diamond but nothing too flashy. the young woman who he will be giving this to isn't big on make-up and dresses but when she does wear them she is absolutely gorgeous and in the words of my brother takes your breath away." he said, "I have the perfect ring miss."

he walks back from the back and is holding a Three Stone Petite Twisted Vine Diamond Engagement Ring I took one look at the ring and knew that was the one for Aspen. the total was a little over $8,000 because I had something special engraved into the inside of the ring. when we left the store Annalynn asked me why she and Jakob don't get to be part of our special night and Jakob said,

"my love you know I have to tend to the pack while your brother is away," Annalynn started pouting and crossed her arms I busted out laughing and said hey Jakob are you ready for her tantrums? he rolled his eyes and told me to shut up.

when we got back to the packhouse I called my dad into my office and told him what was going on and asked if the night I propose could he take over for the night so I could take Jakob and Annalynn with me he said,

"of course son just make sure you get Annalynn to video it for your mother and I." I told him I would and told him thank you, he asked if I was nervous and I told him I was scared s**tless and chuckled and said "just breath son she loves you and everything will be perfect."

I nodded then he said, "oh before I forget I talked to elder Todd earlier and he said the only thing the elders can come up with is maybe Aspen is a blessed wolf and the orb we saw was her gaining her ability."

I told him to tell elder Todd thank you and said dad can I ask you a personal question? he smirked and said, "I was waiting on this moment, you and Aspen still haven't had s*x have you son?" I shook my head no and he said "it's ok and I'm proud of you for respecting her feelings. she reminds me of your mother she has a good head on her shoulders and is strong even if she doesn't think she is we can see it. I have pretty much watched Aspen grow up over the years with meetings and business with Alpha Charlie and I had hoped that one day she might turn out to be your mate."

I said dad I'm scared to engage if you catch what I'm saying he laughed and said "Hardin no one knows this but when I met your mother I was still pure and so was she we waited a few weeks to mate but we talked about everything and planned things but for Aspen, it seems she isn't comfortable with talking about it and this is going to be one of those times where it will happen when both of you are ready." he then looked at me and said, "son you aren't proposing just to get her to have s*x are you?" I said really, dad? you know me better than that I would never try to bribe or push her into anything she isn't ready for.

He looked at me and said, "I would hope not because your mother and I raised you better than that son." I asked my dad how will I know what to do when the time comes? he said, "son you will know what to do when the time comes from both of your bodies." I asked him what he meant and he said "son if it hurts you then stop and if it's hurting her she will tell you but if you and her are both enjoying how it feels then keep doing what you are doing." then he looked at me and said, "son you are 20 have you never watched a p*rno?" I laughed and said yes dad I have, quite a few of them actually.

then I slipped and said I even caught Aspen watching one. he looked at me and said "really?" I nodded and he said "it's ok son she is curious and wants to learn things just like you are wanting to do. why don't you talk to her about watching them together and see which positions she thinks she will like and which ones you think you would like." I told him I already made the suggestion and he said "well good at least you communicated with her about it."

he asked if that was all I needed and I nodded then he said, "well time for this old man to go romance his wife when she gets back." I yelled eww really dad thanks for the mental image now I'm never going to be able to have s*x with my mate with that in my head he laughed and said, I love you son" and walked out of my office.

I mind-linked Jakob to come see me in my office and a few minutes later he was knocking on the door, he opened the door and said, "you wanted to see me?" I told him to close the door and he came in and sat down and said "what's up Hardin?"

I told him I had just talked to my dad and he agreed to keep an eye on the pack the night I propose to Aspen so him and Annalynn could be there and Anna record it for my mom and dad.

he said "thank you for allowing us to come" and I said now that you and Annalynn will be coming as well I will need to get 2 more rooms because the last thing I need on the night I ask the love of my life to marry me is to kill my best friend for taking my sister's innocence because my best friend is mated to her and addicted to s*x.

he looked at me with his mouth wide open and finally said "dude I would never touch your sister like that while she is underage. I can't even believe you would say that s*it." his face was turning red and I knew he was mad I busted out laughing and said dude calm down I was just f**king with you I know you would never touch my sister while she is 16 whether she is your mate or not I know you have more respect for young ladies even though you are a s*x addict.

he took a deep breath and said "man you had me so mad and hurt I was ready to cry. thinking my best friend of 20 years thought of me as some s****l monster. I am nothing like Mikael dude I would never try to force it after a girl tells me no." I told him I know he isn't like that and I was sorry for hurting his feelings then told him I would get them a room together but with 2 beds and said don't forget I can smell a girl's scent on you so I'll know if anything other than hand-holding happens.

then I said and even if she says she wants to you better call me as soon as you say no. he nodded and said "so what day are you going to do this?" I told him in 2 days I then said there is something you need to know about Aspen he looked at me and said, "dude please tell me she really is your mate" I laughed and said yes she is but the orb from the night of my ceremony could mean she is blessed and she was given her ability then.

he said "I wonder what she can do," I looked at him, and said me too. now I'm going to be wondering what the moon goddess blessed my love with and if the pack will be ok with her being blessed. he asked if I was going to tell her tonight or if I was going to wait until after I propose I told him I didn't know yet since my dad had just told me. I said I think I'm going to wait I want to do some research to see what all abilities the moon goddess gives blessed wolves. he said he would do the same thing because he wouldn't want to freak her out by just saying hey by the way you may be a blessed wolf and leave it at that.
