I packed a few more boxes, mostly dusty paperbacks and hardbacks about mountain climbing, North American birds, life spent in the Dakotas, survival in the woods, butterflies, national forests, Hindu spells, and rituals of Native American Indians. Thereafter, I decided to spend an hour working, keeping my job at Ladderman & Hawke Realty, a rather popular realty service in western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. My salaried career at L&H Realty paid very well for the amount of labor I had to do. In truth, I probably worked twenty hours a week as opposed to other employees, who put in forty to sixty hours a week.
