Aurelia didn’t try to hide it or show any signs that she was affected by the way everyone had their eyes on her.
Although the teacher knew it wasn’t okay to act this frightened in front of the students but she just couldn’t help it, she exhaled deeply with a closed eyes and finally was ready to say something.
“Y’all should go back to your positions, the clas is on hold for now” was all she said before going back to the class podium to pick her notes and immediately heading out of the classroom.
Loud murmurs which was obviously about Aurelia filled up the whole room that she was beginning to get irritated by it so she tried to exit the class for her secret hideout.
Back In the staff rooms which was mainly known to be a teacher office but it wasn’t just a teacher, a lot of them.
“Miss Greene, why do you look so drained and pale?” One of the male teachers who was heading out saw her face.
“I just witnessed something in my class and I’m afraid I can’t keep it bottled in, that little Aurelia was talking to the space in the class, I saw it with my eyes!” She declared, some teachers who already knew it just tilted their head.
“Wait, is this real?, some of you already knew about it??” She queried in disbelief.
“Yes and we’ve called her here times without numbers but she wouldn’t say a word” another added, she was getting really confused.
“Well, at this point, I’ll have to call her parents, this cannot continue in my class!” She countered.
“Now I can’t go on with the class because her classmates wants her out of the class” she divulged further and after seeing the reaction from them, she just decided to go ahead.
She sent another student to bring Aurelia to the staff room way before calling her father.
“If you’re calling my dad, you seem to have much time to waste then” Aurelia walks into the room with her hands crossed over her tummy and she actually bowed to everyone before walking to her teacher.
“How could you…
“I’m only telling you the truth because he’s always busy but if you want to call to tell him what happened, he might pick up but will never come here!” She stated, giving the facts.
“Wow, sit over there while I call him, he might end up coming here to pick you” the lady said, she was pissed by the way she was talking to her.
After dialing her dad’s line for the umpteenth time, he finally picked it up.
“Good day to you sir, This is Miss Greene from your daughters school and I have called to call your attention to something really serious” She uttered word to words.
“Did she cause any trouble?, cause she’s used to doing that a lot” he wasn’t even trying to know what went wrong.
“Well, not actually a trouble. But it would be appreciated and helpful if you could show up so we can give you details of what happened”
“If it cannot be said on the phone, if she didn’t hurt anyone then I cannot show up so have my daughter send back to her class!” He rasped impatiently, more like he knew what this was about.
“Your daughter is talking to a ghost and you’re talking in…
“Did you see the ghost?, how could you act like you saw it just because she was talking to herself??”
“Sir?…”
“See dad, I already told you I want to stop coming here, just withdraw me from here or you’ll not stop getting calls like this everyday!!” Aurelia screamed her message on top of her lungs.
“I cannot do that my daughter, please go back to your class” and without wasting no time, the call came to an end when the teacher wasn’t even expecting it.
“Today will be the last day y’all see me here” she uttered under her breath and went back to her classroom and the whole lectures was later cancelled because the teachers had a whole time talking about what to do because of her.
7 Years Later
“If you think I’m actually going to that ball with you then you have to face the reality cause it’s never going to happen!” Aurelia countered, her fingers glued to the tip of her hair.
“Why are you so so like this?, can’t you at least give me the chance to have my way with your life!!” Aurelia’s father who was a very famous politician when he’s not in the forest hunting for werewolves.
“You already had your way when I was born this way!”
“What way?, tell me!!”
“Do I need to tell you that you gave birth to a daughter who can see ghosts?, a daughter who is bound to become a huntress like you?, a daughter whose choices cannot work unless I use force?, what more do you need to hear!!” She half yelled, sweating profusely.
“I didn’t cause the first one, it just happened, i don’t know about it” he retorted, he’s been trying to prove himself to her for years.
“It’s too early to start our day with this, I promise you that I’ll leave your house immediately I graduate college!” She hissed and stormed out of the house.
He didn’t even bother to call her back as he already have other plans to make his plan work no matter how much she tries to run away from it.
~~~
Aurelia is in her final year of college and she’s studying Tourism regardless of how her dad stopped her from taking it.
She was already late for classes when she got in and just as she was about to act invincible whilst trying to go inside the class, she heard her name from behind and immediately turned around.
“I requested that you see me and I have been waiting since forever” a woman in her late fifties said as she adjusted her glasses.
She was her project supervisor.
“I didn’t receive the message” She replied.
“When you do, meet me in my office then”
“How about now?” She asked.
“As you can see, I have no time for you at this moment” the woman countered, releasing an awkward laughter.
The rest of her day went just like she always wanted, to seat alone on the rooftop whilst listening to dark aesthetic musics and taking aesthetics pictures with her Polaroid camera.
Aurelia sensed the trouble was near the minute she heard rushed footsteps and she immediately ran into a corner to hid, she nodded her head when she saw her dad’s bodyguard who were 7 in numbers.
She knew he wasn’t going to let her be, after all the reasons she gave not to go!
“But they told us she was here” one of them uttered, holding his waist.
“She’s here, let’s search the whole place!”
She took slow steps to a side until she reached the door and the minute she got there, she sped off with one thought in her mind.
“To our hidden Forest!”
