Chapter 11
“Welcome, gentlemen,” a butler greeted Kellan, Darwin, and Endymion after they introduced themselves. “We’ve been expecting you. Please follow me.”
Kellan’s first reaction as he, Darwin, and Endymion entered the house was to stare at everything. There were paintings, sculptures, crystals, and a whole slew of other things that seemed to scream “priceless.” Even the air in the house felt as if it was too expensive for him to inhale. He and Darwin both had abandonment issues to varying degrees. In addition, they were both rather self-conscious at times, especially when they came face-to-face with the reality of how little they actually owned. However, their reactions differed. Darwin would be tense and quiet. Kellan would pretend to be fine.
