Renatus' POV-
It had been two long weeks since my mates left. Neither one made any effort to reach out. Remington's family knew exactly where she was but would not tell me. Occasionally, they would pass a message on from Raclaus, but they were always the same. 'We are safe.' He never lowered the block, so I hadn't even heard his voice speak the words. That didn't leave much in the way of mending things between us, at least not that I could do through talking. I set about other tasks trying to make the castle more welcoming when Remington returned. Who was I kidding? At this point, it was if Remington returned.
I pushed my way into my office, stumbling over the cot I had there. I hadn't stepped foot in our suite since they left. Without my mates, I did not feel comfortable sleeping there
