The scar on her cheek lightened. Dini brought her face down to the child's wide-eyed gaze. “So, child Anjali Hukara, I answer not your question, 'When will the Lemurians return?' but instead I ask, 'How do we see the Lemurians already among us?' ”

Dini threw her head back and laughed, and the crowd joined in.
“Can you sprout lasers from your eyes and lightning from your fingertips?” Anjali asked.
Again Dini laughed, near to the point of crying.
