The earth is 4,543-billion-year-old. During that time numerous civilizations lived and died. Many technologies were created, some were lost forever and others are being used to this day. The knowledge our lost civilizations were destroyed either by nature itself or by the greed and jealousy of mankind. Leaving many unaware of their true history.
200 000 years that is how old humanity is. During that time, we became warriors, soldiers, scientists, engineers. We also became criminals, thieves, murderers and much worst. After destroying humanity and making it the worst version of itself. We finally ruined the one pure thing on our lives: earth.
180 years ago, we had the first warning about earth. We knew our ways of life would be the death of us. They warned us we had to go back to the old ways only then we would survive. We disregarded the warnings but in 2040 we could no longer ignore the warning. The air was polluted 2/3 of the world. The heat was unbearable; people were dropping dead like flies. Pandemic after pandemic humanity was at the edge of its demise.
And for the first time in the history of human beings, we finally decided to be united. It didn’t matter what was your skin color, it didn’t matter what was your religion, your s****l preference, political direction. One thing mattered: to preserve the human race. At the end it was in our darkest hours that humanity finally had shown some humanity.
Can you believe that for once in the whole history of the earth, of mankind, all continents, cultures, religions, sexes united to save us all. Bunkers were being built all around the world, in west, south, north African, in America, in Europe, in Asia ect…
It did not matter whether you are rich or poor as money did not matter anymore, only our skills and knowledge mattered. The life of the mechanic whose shop was barely hanging on was more important than the man who owned a clothing brand.All of the unnecessary technologies were lost, we lived by pure necessity whether we liked it or not, humanity was evolving and devolving at the same time.
In 2086, ten years later, 4 spaceships were created orbiting at a safe distance from earth: The Sirens 4. A few months after they were launched we found out the true reason why humanity decided to unite. It was not to save the many but the few. A meteorite was heading towards earth. It would destroy all life on earth and its surroundings. All the people in the bunkers would be gone. Only those in the spaceships who managed to be as far as possible when the impact happened would survive.
Riots were breaking all over earth, they refused to give us water supplies or any material we needed for the survival of the Sirens 4. We were at the edge of a WW3 not like the one we expected to happen in 2020. This was a greater war, between the grounders and the Sireners.
A group of 4 women emerge from the shadows from an unknown group called Ndappa. They found a way to bomb the asteroid into a thousand small pieces. A few debris landed on earth. And there was something inside of it: our salvation. A new element was discovered in those debris, a new energy source. With it humanity managed to create spacecraft that were faster. A planet that was millions of light-years away was now reachable in less than 5 years. A new era began for humanity. It was time for us to leave earth and find a new home.
In the course of 25 years, 12 colonies were sent across the space to find a new home. Some died in the course of it, some died on the planet, some we never heard of again.
My name is Nile Faye; I am from the WACU: West African Countries Union. I was born in Siren 2. I was selected as one of the members of the 13th colony group: The Gaia colony.
