Once they were showered and dressed, Lucy and William went downstairs together. When they got to the landing, the first thing that they saw was Elizabeth. She was sitting on the couch with a ghastly expression on her face. On either side of her sat Vivian and Jenny. Jenny looked angry.
Lucy took one look at them and she asked them what was wrong.
Jenny looked at William and said, “I am glad that you are finally here. Sister Miller's La Mer is missing. We've looked for it all morning, but we couldn’t find it.”
