Breathing Space Collins exhaled, inched himself forward a foot or so, then rested. He took shallow breaths. The narrowness of the rock tunnel would not allow anything more. His headlamp lit the way ahead. The rough limestone opened out in another four or five feet. His left arm lay stretched out in front of him, his right was trapped by his side. Collins' neck hurt from holding his head up, so he let it fall to the tunnel floor. Loose shards of rock pricked his cheeks, but the pain was preferable to the ache of his neck. Now, all his headlamp illuminated was the wall of the tunnel, a few inches from his eyes. “How you doing?
