Laying there in the darkness, he watched as the moonlight shown in, providing a glow that was hued in a faint blue.
He couldn’t take his eyes off of the beauty of it. He lifted his hands to rest behind his head as he continuously watched on and thought about her.
“You alright?” He heard one say.
Immediately, he became disheartened as while her voice sounded different, he knew that it was Alora. Though, he had to admit that her throaty and feminine voice was something that he could get used to.
He was still angry with her, however. Not because she went after him, and in turn saved him after placing him in a disadvantaged position. It was because she never listened to him and while he may have given her reason to, it was almost like she didn’t trust that any of his decisions were right.
“I’m fine.” He finally said.
“But I know that you’re not.” She said. Then her cool lips touched the temple of his head.
The feeling that suddenly rushed him was something that he had never felt before with Alora. It felt like the tingle...the sensation of a true mate. His true mate.
He tried to halt the shiver that rose up against his spine and was suddenly afraid to even look over at her. Something wasn’t right. Or more...something felt too right to be true.
“Tell me what’s the matter, Alpha.” She cooed, pulling his head to her breast and laying her chin over his disheveled mass of hair. “Tell me what is on your mind, my Alpha.”
His heart began to thrum like a rapidly beating drum when he felt her nearness. He thought he’d have a heart attack from the emotions and physical tinglings that she was erupting from him. How could one get used to such a feeling for the rest of their life? This was the only question that continuously prodded at his mind as she touched him.
“I don’t think I want to get used to this,” Nox said in the back of Falcon's mind.
“Who is this?” He said when he heard Nox’s voice. In a sense, hearing his counterpart's voice-it brought him relief because….whatever it was that he was experiencing with Alora was frightening him.
Before Nox could answer, her bare exposed thigh stretched itself on the side of him. He was suddenly lying between her legs, his head laid against her in a comfort he had never known.
“Wait-what…..” His voice trailed off when he saw that the fair skin that he was expecting to see was not that at all.
Part of him was afraid to touch but a larger piece of him needed to. He ran his hand down the length of her thick brown-skinned thigh down to her leg until he reached her foot.
Her skin was silk to his touch and he didn’t want to let her go. Whatever it was, he didn’t want to let it go. He pushed her thigh up to bend and just laid his lips upon it, realizing that this was the way that he wanted to feel-how he wanted to be for the rest of his life.
“I miss you.” He hoarsely expressed through broken words. “I….don’t know...if I can live like this….” He came to the realization. No, he hadn’t known her long-never even experienced her love to the full extent, but he knew….he knew. “Not without you.” He whispered, a tear falling from his eyes against her thigh. He kissed it away again and just let his lips rest there for a moment.
He wanted more than anything to look into those eyes again. He wanted to look into her flawless features but was afraid that he’d be disappointed. That whatever dream world he had created would end.
“I am right here, Falcon.” His name rolled off of her lips the way no other could. “Look at me.”
Her whisper was soft and yet demanding but Falcon couldn’t bring himself to do it. He shook his head refusing to take this moment away from himself.
“Con.” She said again. Then he felt her soft small hand against his face. She lifted his chin. “Look at me.”
Falcon shook his head, in refusal again, the tears streaming now. “I can’t.”
“Yes, you can.” She said and pushed his chin so that his gaze could finally lay upon her.
His eyes were closed when she did it. Now he was facing up at her, his gaze refusing to see hers. She found this amusing but he didn’t. Still, the chuckle that escaped her was like breathing air into him.
“I can’t…” he started to say when he suddenly felt the nearness of her. He was so affected by her nearness, the heat that rose within him halted his every move. Then he felt her lips, cool and soft….against his.
This didn’t feel like Alora. This didn’t taste like Alora. He was afraid to think that maybe it wasn’t only to have that comforting thought slip away from him.
After her small peck on his lips, she spoke again. “Open your eyes, Alpha.”
Afraid but too curious not as well, Falcon finally opened his eyes and when he saw hers, his breath caught in his throat.
Those eyes, glowing bluer than the plumage of a mountain bluebird and bright burning; that hair-so dark and yet vibrant in its unearthly hue of blue and purple that fell well past her arms.
His hand rose against her soft plump lips and then to her sweet and perfect face. She had a look of sympathy in her eyes.
“Is it you? Is it really….” HIs voice trailed off and she didn’t answer, only grabbed his hand and laid it against the side of her face, kissing it before resting it against her cheek again.
Falcon turned and got up to face her. It was all of a sudden that he could not control himself-his actions were not his own and then they were. He grabbed her exposed thigh and pulled her close to him until she was as close as he could have her. Before another word could be spoken he took her lips into his with a passion that he had long forgotten. She didn’t hesitate, she didn’t push him away. She welcomed him and that sent him in an upward spiral of even more ecstasy.
When he finally let up for air, her lips were swollen and pink and he was throbbing with desire for her but he wouldn’t let himself go that far. Because he wanted something so much more than to have her body.
“I...I am so….sorry.” He cried. He wrapped her up in his arms. “You deserve so much more than me. You didn’t deserve death….and…”
“Stop.” She pulled his face to hers, her eyes serious. “Stop.” She said in a softer voice. “I forgive you.” She said. “I forgive you, Falcon.”
He collapsed in her arms and sobbed. That was what he wanted more than anything and to let her know….”I love you……”
“Miyah...miyah…”
Alora watched on incredulously as he repeated the name. He was sweating profusely and his temperature was fluctuating between freezing and hell.
“Why? Are you calling her name?” She said. “Why?” She hissed.
Then without warning, Falcon’s eyes shot open, they were red and sickly, the circles around them darkened. When he turned to face her, he seemed surprised and almost hurt. Then the expression on his face softened. He quickly sat from where he lay and faced her. “Are you-are you alright?” He touched her face.
Alora didn’t pull away because she saw the genuine concern in them. She nodded in reassurance though her gaze could barely linger on his after what she'd heard.
“Good...good.” He stood from the bed, barely able to walk. For some reason as soon as he woke, the first thing that he could think of was the vampire that attacked earlier. It somehow slipped his mind that Alora escaped unscathed even though she did inadvertently save his life.
“Fal-Falcon where are you going?” Alora incredulously asked.
“I just….I need to be alone for a moment, Alora. I need air. I promise I’ll be fine” He started to leave.
“You need to rest, Falcon!” She insisted. “You’ve been bitten by a vampire!”
“Lying down will not help me, Alora-”
“Moving around won’t either!” She said. “You know the poison will only work quicker-”
“Alora please.” Falcon said-not in an angry way, but one just tired of arguing. “I just want to feel the breeze against my skin. Maybe it’ll balance me out a little.”
Alora scoffed. “Or maybe you just want more time to think about her…”
Falcon turned around. “What?”
“Why? Why were you calling out for ‘Miyah’?” She hissed. “I’m sure that’s short for Kazmiyah-the sister that is dead-my sister-”
“Yes, Alora! Your sister! The one that gave her life so that I would live! The one-” He started to confess something further-something that he knew would have hurt her but she cut him off. Truthfully, he was glad that she did before he said something that he knew he would regret.
“Don’t-don’t start Falcon-”
“No, no! Since you are for starting an argument with me every single second of every single day, let’s have it!” He said, through panted words. “Kazmiyah..gave her life for me and you’ve been risking it….risking it at every turn for your own selfishness. All you think about….is yourself, Alora. I am….dying! Why? Why is this the time that you choose to point out my guilt!? I’ve done so much for you! I’ve-I’ve” It was becoming harder and harder for him to talk but he forced himself to. “I’ve protected you….put my life in...harm’s way for you!” He said.
“Falcon, I-”
“And all….all I ask in return is that you just...listen when I ask you to stay safe….to not provoke elder pack members...and....” He could barely speak anymore…”Just suppo-support me….”
“Falcon?” Alora could see his eyes fluttering. “Falcon!” She rushed to him.
“What’s going on?” Rojer and Jason burst into the room to see Falcon lying there, his skin pale and soaked with.
“We need to get him to a healer!” Jason said. “We lost ours during the fight with Christoph and the Half-Moon pack….well let’s be honest, they’re not necessarily progressive when it comes to medicines and cures against high-end situations such as this!”
“Why...is he not in bed?” Rojer asked Alora. “He shouldn’t have been moving around! It will only make the blood spread quicker!”
“He-he need-he wanted to get some air,” Alora said through broken words. “We got into...an argument about it and….I guess it over-exerted him! I-I didn’t mean to.”
Rojer knew that she didn’t have bad intentions but he also knew that Alora did like to be confrontational, and more than usual of late. She could be quite immature at the worst of times. He wouldn’t allow this to cloud his judgment of who she was to him, however, and he also knew that despite her flaws, she did love Falcon.
“It’s alright, Luna. We’ll figure this out.” He finally said.
“What? How?” Jason incredulously asked. “How are we going to fix this, Rojer?”
Roj could tell that Jason was frightened-that he was already showing signs of panic at the thought of losing his alpha. Truth be told, so was Rojer. Not only did he not want to be a leader but he didn’t want to lose his little brother more than that. However, he knew, as the second in command, he had to keep his cool. He had to have enough reassurance and hope for the whole pack; and that included Alora Crescent, his Luna.
“Roj, what-what are we going to do?” Alora asked through tears.
“There….there is only one thing that we can do, Luna. We have to take the Alpha….back to Crescent.”

She sat in her room, trying hard to keep herself mentally balanced but she couldn’t. Something wasn’t right and she couldn’t put her finger on it at first. Then her mind wandered over to him. She zeroed her thoughts in on him and when she felt the excruciating pain that ensued, she knew something was wrong.
Kazmiyah rushed out of her room to go find her father. “Dad!” She yelled for him but he didn’t answer right away. “Dad!” She yelled again.
It was when she headed for the door and rushed outside that she realized he was at the Packhouse meeting hall. She rushed inside to see him in a meeting with not only the pack but Varick as well.
When Warren saw the concern on his daughter’s face, he was immediately worried. “Kaz?” He rushed to her. “What’s wrong?”
“I-I don’t know exactly but….I….I can’t get my mind balanced enough...to-to see clearly but something happened...something bad happened!”
“To-to who?” Warren asked, holding to her shoulders.
Kazmiyah looked into her father’s eyes. “Something happened to Falcon!”
