‘Emira? Uncle Charles?’ I was unable to believe my eyes. Are they really here or were my eyes playing tricks on me?
‘Come on, go ahead and give her a hug.’ Damien nudged me by placing his hand on my lower back. I turned back and kissed him deeply without giving him much thought. When I pulled away, I hid my reddened face in his chest.
‘Thank you.’ I said into his chest. He rubbed my back in an up and don motion and bent to whisper in my ears.
‘If that’s what I get as a thank you, then you bet I’m going to surprise you more often.’ He placed a soft kiss on my ear lobe that caused me to swallow hard. I pulled away from him and ran inside the office fully, escaping him. He chuckled lightly behind me, and I heard the door close.
