As I entered the confines of my home, a crushing realization hit me like a ton of bricks. There was no sugarcoating it- Ethan had committed the ultimate betrayal and cheated on me! The very thought of it made me feel like the foundation of my world had crumbled beneath my feet, leaving me lost and helpless. I lay in bed, my eyes welling up with tears that flowed like a river. I felt utterly worthless without him, unable to fathom a life without the person I had loved so dearly.
What made it even worse was the fact that he had chosen to marry someone else while we were still together, as if our relationship meant nothing to him. Even though it was a mere contractual arrangement, he had made me believe that it was real, that we were meant to be together forever.
