Chapter 17

Coles p.o.v.

Its taken 2 months to rebuild and heal the major injuries but we did it. The alpha meeting is tomorrow and I leave tonight with Oliver, as my new beta, in charge of the pack. Dominic has left the pack after I took over saying that he should be in charge and not me.

I have my backpack packed with my stuff for the weekend and I get ready to leave.

"Col, wait!" says a female voice, "You were going to leave without saying goodbye. How could you?"

"Well its simple I just walk. but I was going to come find you, Emma." I say.

Emma Lane is a 10 year old orphan that I have taken care of for 2 weeks and she is not happy that I'm going away. She has curly brown, dark green eyes, and is a real sweetheart. When we first meet she was scared of my red eyes but she says that you have to get to know me first. Emma calls me Col instead of Alpha because she is more my sister than anything. I have told her all the stories about Emerald and I when we were younger and about are enchanted necklaces. She was mesmerized by the necklace I showed her and she wants to meet Emerald so bad. I carefully put the necklace in my bag and close it.

"Cole, your going to be late if you don't go now." Oliver reminds me.

"I know. Im going. Please take care other Oliver." I ask, "And take care of the pack."

"I will Alpha." He says in a half joking and half serious manner.

With one last hug to Emma and Oliver I go behind a tree and shift. I grab my bag between my teeth and start my journey to the Thunder Root pack.
