Ira
Ira flew with her parents back to Melbourne and from there they drove down to Glen Iris. Coming back was a bittersweet event.
She wanted to be back with her family but also wanted to be away from the surroundings which reminded her of her bullies. Especially the last incident where Jack and Alex had almost managed to r**e her. She had learned to deal with that trauma but driving into the printing lanes of the well-kept neighbourhood, she couldn't top a shudder run down her spine.
She had fought alright. But she knew she had been overpowered. That night if James wouldn't have reached on time? She had to stop thinking about it. James reached and he was powerful enough to save her. Period. that's all that mattered.
“Darl! Don’t think about it! Those bastards are rotting in jail. They were bound to face the consequences of their actions someday!” Her mother responded to her feelings.
That was the con of having a witch mother. Witches were insanely perceptive!
Living with witches was weird. You didn’t always have to speak your mind out. It might feel creepy to others but she was used to this.
Especially Eva's aunt Sarena, was super creepy. She could guess stuff with terrifying accuracy. Thankfully she did not share it much. Her cryptic nature was amusing.
All witches had different senses depending on their strong elements. Her cousin James’ mum Eva was good with the element of Earth. It gave her powers to control the minerals and it gave her a strong sense of smell to the extent that she could smell your emotions.
Sarena was a very powerful witch. She could enter into your head and talk to you as if she was present there. She had taught this art to James and Ira too although Ira did not have any other qualities of a witch.
Ira's mom Myra had control over the element of water. She had a strong sense of taste and that explained her work as a chef in their restaurant. She could dish out recipes that aligned with your mood making the experience greater than what you would have ever known. That’s why their restaurant was so famous.
No one knew the secret ingredient to their success was a witch’s control of taste.
Along with that, Myra could control the water bodies. When Ira was a child she use to amuse Ira by making shapes out of the liquid water during Ira’s bath time.
All the witches that she knew were Amenables. They followed the Order of the Witches and revered the Keeper of the Orb living on Mount Kailasha.
Ira smiled at the loving memories. “Ma! Will James be there?”
“Yes, he is coming down to meet you but he will need to go back home tonight. He has a test tomorrow so no slumber party for you guys.”
“Mumma! How does he have a test? When does his break start?" Ira pouted. "I wanted to spend some time with him!"
"Not school test princess. Some test arranged by Sarena!" Her dad interjected while taking a hook turn.
This is what she had to do during these holidays! She had to learn to drive a car. Given her irrational nature of attracting accidents, she must invest her time learning this fine skill! She made up her mind.
"That old woman keeps him very busy!" Ira responded resolving to join a driving school asap.
"Language young lady!" Myra reprimanded. "This is not how you are going to speak about your elders!"
"Sorry, mom." Ira sulked. "That's fine! At least I get to meet James.” The thought of catching up with her cousin made her smile as she looked forward to meeting him after months.
She had stayed connected over phone calls and chats but it wasn’t the same! He had visited Kangaroo Island on her birthday in July. Some of the photos that he had taken were out of this world.
James was one of the most powerful witches Ira had ever heard of. Sarena had big dreams for James.
Girls born to witches were witches by birth, except Ira who was one big exception. Trust her to be the exception for such an absolute rule!
Whereas men had to do a lot to become witches. They were a rarity. They had to strike a balance between their masculine and feminine nature. Balancing their sun and moon component. It was very rare and that made James special. He had trained well. The boy was such a sucker for doing the right thing!
James' dad John was Myra's brother. John and Myra's mother was an accomplished witch but John couldn't become one. Ira's dad was a human too, although he came from a royal family which no one knew much about.
Ira had fallen asleep thinking of her family. The thoughts dispersed as she found herself in a strange land. She heard sounds of wolves howling. It was strange! Australia doesn't have any wolves, yet the sounds were so realistic.
Her heart raced yet she wasn't scared. There was a strange excitement. As if she was going to rendezvous with someone important. Her pulse jumped, her lady parts tingled and a bunch of butterflies fluttered in her belly. She saw a silhouette of a huge muscular man against the setting sun. The heat from his body made her honeypot weep. She couldn't make out his face. Only his bare-chested body as he prowled towards her as if a hunter moving in to pounce on his prey. She wanted him to get close. She desperately wanted him to lose his shorts and take her against a tree.
She woke up with a start as loud honking disturbed her sleep o****m. Only a little while more and her body would have felt heavenly. Although she hadn't copped a root yet, she wasn't new to orgasms.
"Drop it, Ira! It was just a dream!" Myra chortled.
"Maaa!" Ira reproached. "Stop snooping!" Her mom could be so nosy at times. Witches and their stupid intuition. She stared out of the window to take her mind off the embarrassment and her throbbing clit.
That evening she enjoyed the party with her family. James had visited along with his parents. Ira got along well with Aunt Eva. She was such a warm person. While their parents chatted in the living room, James showed Ira some clever tricks. He also introduced her to his dragon which he had claimed in his last test.
Ira looked at Draco wistfully. If only she too had been a witch!

The next week she received a call on her cell phone from an unknown number. The number was private so she did not have any idea which city the call was from. No one replied. She heard heavy breathing at the other end. The sound raised the hairs at the back of her neck. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest making her gasp for breath.
Was it Jack or Alex? Were they back? She disconnected quickly.
She had to know. She needed to keep herself safe.
She wasn’t the scared and weak twelve year old anymore. So she called the local AFP (Australian Federal Police) office in Melbourne and used her persuasive skills on the officer to enquire but Jack and Alex.
She realised that they would be out and about in another week. That was too soon. She had to be out of here.
So she quickly applied for a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient World Studies & Latin at the University of Melbourne and moved into the city. Although it was only a 20 min drive from her home, she did not want to commute.
Living near to the Uni would help her give more time to her studies, she could share her apartment with Bella and she would be closer to her cousin James.
For weeks she tried to get in touch with Bella but couldn’t. Bella’s cell phone number had changed and Ben had blocked Ira out. Neither Ira nor Bella was on social media.
She missed Bella a lot but realised that her journey together with Bella was over. As she got busier with her studies she learned to miss Bella lesser, but the pain of not knowing what happened still bothered her.
She couldn't be bullied anymore. She had outgrown the scared teenager phase but she missed Bella. As her loneliness increased she got more drawn towards books. It worked well for her grades but left her devoid of any social interaction other than her family.
After completing her studies she joined the Ballan library as a librarian and head of archiving and collection services. She enjoyed the books and loved being amongst them. Although with her PHD she was overqualified for her current role and she did not enjoy the collection part of her portfolio, she did not wish to leave the sanctity of her library.
It was her comfort zone. The musky smell of books felt safe and in her free time, she enjoyed getting lost in the bygone era of books on history.
Her top boss, the Library Director, Miss Casey Opusa was horrible though. The woman was a devil reincarnation but Ira knew how to keep herself safe. She knew how to keep her walls high and impenetrable. The long years of dealing with bullies had given her enough skills to manage her way around them.
According to her, bullies were just scared. In fear they tried to use violence and abuse to keep themselves safe. She knew how to keep Ms Opusa away from her.
Her special skills of persuasion helped but what helped more was her boss' interest in James.
One day when James came to meet Ira, she realised that Miss Opusa had the hots for James. Apparently, Miss Opusa was James' huge fan. She had watched all the documentaries de by James and followed him closely on social media.
After Ms Opusa realised how close James and Ira were, Ira's time at the library was a cake walk. She continued studying, completing double graduation and researching mysterious beings in her free time.
Weeks turned into months and months turned into years, while she continued to grow her knowledge.
Sometimes at night, she missed someone, but she did not know who that someone was.
Sometimes in the middle of the crowd, she felt as if someone was watching, yet the nameless, faceless person felt safe. She never found out who the person was, whether he was real or an illusion. But she would dream of him.
Every single time, his sexy muscular body managed to make her drool and create a wet pool down south.
She thought it was her brain playing tricks because she never got the right man to date or have a fling with but she couldn't deny that her imagination had pulled up the most enticing form of the male species for her.
Sometimes when her boss stressed her out she had nightmares about the past incidents of bullying but mostly she managed to work on her psyche.
Her meditation practices helped.
She was at peace and loved the fact that she had managed to build her life in spite of being only human. The only regret was not finding the right man to share it with.
