The days of Harris’ strange new life rolled into each other. He only managed to keep track of the time based on the TV. Game shows and judges meant daytime, comedians with guests meant night. Tucker and Mitchell visited. Brittany texted. Harris’ supervisor and co-workers stopped by. The cops spent an hour going over his statement and assured him they’d try to find the plain-looking white shooter, although they didn’t seem that confident. A reporter checked in and asked invasive questions. Dalton called, but Harris never answered.
Dr. Brighton’s cheery attitude returned, although he treated Harris like he was somehow special. Gage checked in with him frequently, and treated Harris completely normal.
