“How can you say that? You never even met him yet” Ethan argued with me, but I just shook my head before pointing at the invitation.
“That invitation is the proof that he wants to see you! Parents sometimes tend to be secretive about those kinds of things but if you look closer, you’ll know how much he cares for you and you’re just oblivious to it” I replied which made him sigh.
“He just wants me to be there so that he could pass his work to me, he’s retiring that’s why he wants me to be there” he argued again which made me shook my head.
“You’re missing the point EJ, you’re reading things wrongly” I tried to ease his emotions but I’m clearly failing on that.
“He never even cared for me after my mom died, he just continued working and… um like I was nothing to him”
