I sat there on the bed listening to Tommy talk to Landon Kingston. I didn't know what Landon was telling him, but I could tell that Tommy wasn't very happy about it. His eyes were narrowed and he was gritting his teeth. He was furious, but when he looked at me his face would soften. I was overwhelmed with emotions and tried to control them, but after I heard Tommy say,
"She escaped his torture and abuse Boss. I will not leave her alone and let the wolves come back and eat her alive. Sorry, but that is not going to happen. I will protect her at all costs. No matter the consequences."
I lost it completely. Tears started falling down my face and Tommy leaned down and wiped them away with his thumbs. How could someone I just met willingly accept so much responsibility for me. I
