Becca looked up at me and smiled a little before brushing her hand across my cheek. It hurt now, but I’ll be fine by the afternoon. Now that I was awake, I told everyone what had happened before Becca found me.
“These creatures are smart,” Freyja said. “They use hypnotic calls to pull their victims to them.”
“What did you feel when you heard it?” Elle asked.
