Chapter 24Once he left Talya in front of the Grand, Hassan drove for a couple of hours before deciding to go down to the Niger River. He was at a loss for words. What was the woman thinking? There were so many things he would have liked to say and yet the words didn’t come out when he was looking into her eyes. He struggled to come to terms with what happened. Where could he go? What could he do to ease the strain? Hassan was thoroughly annoyed with Talya, and yet, at the moment, to contemplate her leaving was even more frustrating than dealing with her staying in town.
