Chapter 5Ilya had believed Ulric would take him home to his apartment, but he drove them into the woods. The road got smaller and smaller until it was nothing more than a barely-there gravel road. At the end of it was a small cabin. “Home sweet home.” Ulric gave him a guarded look as he pulled the key out of the ignition. “It’s nice.” Ilya couldn’t see it in the dark, and Ulric laughed. “I like it. It’ll be cold now. I haven’t been here for a few weeks, but I’ll get a fire started.” Ilya nodded. He wasn’t sure what he was doing there, but he found himself reluctant to go back to the city.
