“Luna, stop right there; I said stop!” Caleb was already coming after me, stumbling in the dark, not caring where I was going, anywhere but here!

“Emilia!” The strong arm that caught me made me scream from the anger brewing inside my chest. I felt my feet lifting from the ground when Caleb tossed me up over his shoulder and started to walk further down the forest on the edge of the farm.

“Let me go, you bastard!” I was still kicking, hearing Caleb snarl, taking me further inside until nobody could see us. He put me down carefully on the wet ground with a scowl on his attractive face.

“Why were you dancing with Kyle?!” He stared at me, still on the ground, trying to understand why he sounded like he really wanted to know; I didn’t know. I was just having fun!

“Emilia…. I can’t hear you, so please, use words…” Caleb looked drained suddenly, crouching before me. He looked like he was hurt again and couldn’t hear me. That made no sense; he always could.

“It’s the wolfsbane; it cuts the link off, all of them, matebond and pack…. It what the humans used before to torture us, dulls the mind…” he was reading my face, but still didn’t know what he was talking about. Did humans torture us, and why? We didn’t even speak to them unless we needed something. Otherwise, our world didn’t mix with them; even I, who had been a Delta, knew that!

“Caleb… it was just dancing… I swear to the goddess, I wouldn’t do anything; I love you…” I said it slower, wanting him to believe me. He was my mate. How did he even think I would be attracted to anyone else, even Kyle?

I was still staring into his eyes, which looked like they were deciding whether to believe me or not, not that it made any difference right now; he couldn’t hear or feel me. It was strange now that the height of the wolfbane was wearing off, like something important was missing, and I couldn’t figure out what it was.

He snorted like he was mocking me and himself, and I didn’t even know why? I had never felt anything that implied that I didn’t love him with all my heart, even if we were cousins in public; he knew that!

“Yes…. That’s what Katerina said to….” I growled when I heard that name; how many times was I supposed to hear him talk about that girl?! He had me now!

“I’m not Katerina! When are you going to understand that?! I just wanted to have some fun before I return to that awful place you call home and become the boring Luna you all want from me!” I was screaming it, getting back up on my bare feet, cursing that I had lost my shoes and didn’t even know when it happened??

Caleb was looking down at my feet, seeing me stare at them, and with one swoop, he had picked me up bridal style, holding me closer, meeting my still angry eyes; wanting to be mad, but it was hard when he was so scared and showing me love at the same time.

“No, you are not her… you are more important than she will ever be to the pack and me….” He purred when I was still pouting, feeling like he had ruined my fun, and he had made me look like I was some cheap girl who would sleep with anyone who smiled at her!

“.. and you shouldn’t have passed out. Do you understand how worried I was for you!?” I was barking it back at his face that knew that, growing darker, but he wasn’t mad at me, and I didn’t need to feel him to see that he was ashamed of losing control and getting unconscious.

“I know… but I’m happy that you came to save me, even if you are bleeding all over the place…” he smirked when I felt the intense shame that was clutching my chest, afraid to look down and realize that he was right, I was bleeding, and it was all over my legs… goddess…. My head got buried into his chest again, wanting to leave. Everyone had seen me, and nobody had told me, not even Kyle!

“Let’s go get you cleaned up. I saw an old water pump on the way inside; maybe it still works….” I didn’t look up, hearing Caleb's dark voice that sounded sweet again, slightly off, like he still wasn’t entirely sober like me, as he took long strides in the dark forest, still holding me like a baby in his strong arms.

Caleb found the old pump at the side of the barn, just a few hundred yards away from the music that was still sublime, thumping in the back of my ears. I was starting to hate the fact that I couldn’t hear my mate putting me down and, to my surprise, taking off the t-shirt that made him show off just how muscular he was, to the screams of girls around us who could not help themselves seeing the muscular Alpha shirtless.

“Cay, they are staring at you!” I growled, stepping towards the fangirls who were still ogling the tall guy crouched down and pumping water, making his arms flex more and putting the shirt under the pouring water.

“So? I don’t care, and don’t you talk about showing off skin, Luna; look at that skirt….” He snickered, to my surprise, when I let out a small yelp, feeling the cold shirt start to stroke my legs softly and gently with the firm grip around my thigh.

“Oh…” I moaned, feeling the sparkling tingles and water running down my legs; that felt so good… I looked down, seeing Caleb hear me moan, hating every second that we weren’t alone, still surrounded by people, even if we were not inside the barn anymore.

“Luna… you are making it hard for me to clean your legs sounding like that…” his voice was deeper when I moaned again, feeling his hand grip me firmer, trying to control the drive in him that wanted me, always.

“Oh…. Alpha, don’t stop…” I was holding onto the old water pump when he growled, hearing me whimper more, wanting nothing else than to feel him closer inside of me, and I couldn’t stop it even if I tried!

Caleb dragged me back, kissing me, still moaning to my chest, heaving up and down when his tongue was inside of my mouth, same as the parking lot, only this time I wasn’t going to let him stop, stumbling back taking him along towards the old barn, wanting him to take me like he did before when we mated, I needed him!

“You are so beautiful… so beautiful and all mine, Luna…” he murmured when we reached the back of the barn, scaring away any other couple who came here. I didn’t care; I wanted the Alpha, who was smiling at me and picking me up by my thighs, still wet from the blood and water. I loved him so much!

“All yours, Alpha….” I was mumbling it back when he pressed against the wooden wall, putting some pressure on my back and making me moan again when his mouth had found my mark, licking it slowly and teasing with his tongue to my pleasure.

“I want you so bad, Mila, so bad that you have no idea….” I had my eyes closed and my hands clinging onto his back, hearing the hoarse voice in my ear. Yes! I wanted him too, so bad!

“Please, Cay, make me feel good...” I whimpered back to his growl, holding me steady, hearing the unbuttoning jeans, biting my bottom lip, waiting for the pleasure of feeling his inside my mind when he entered me.

The slight sting that was cutting through my body usually didn’t bother me; the intense ache of wanting my mate was overcoming the fact that he was so much bigger than me, stretching out everything when I didn’t feel it, making me frown more when he trusted faster to the point where I was just waiting for him to be done. I didn’t even know what happened?? That was the first time I ever felt like I wasn’t feeling good when Caleb was inside me?

“Oh…. Luna…” Caleb looked up from my neck where I was still being held by his arms, feeling strange, like I didn’t like what had happened, the connection between us being broken off. I was only feeling my own desire and not his. Was this how humans slept together? It was the dullest thing I had ever experienced; even Caleb seemed to have been enjoying himself, pulling out, and starting to understand that something was wrong.

“Emilia, what’s wrong?” I was standing on the ground again, blood and seed mixed coming down my legs, and I didn’t know what was wrong; I just didn’t like it even if I had before he penetrated me.

“I don’t know…. Is it supposed to feel bad when you have s*x?” I was asking him to look up with big eyes, I didn’t know, and maybe it did feel bad sometimes, even if it was with your mate.

Caleb frowned and dropped, looking more like he was feeling bad, and I didn’t want him to; it wasn’t his fault; he didn’t do anything wrong; it was just… not what I was used to…

“It’s the wolfsbane…. s**t… I forgot you don’t know that…. You can’t feel me, and I’m sorry, I’m sorry for not telling you, baby, before…” he stopped when I sighed, coming closer, wanting him to hold me; that didn’t matter, not anymore... but I was never doing wolfsbane ever again, it was not worth being cut off from your mate.

“It's okay; I just don’t understand why any wolf would want s*x with their mate with bane in their system?” I scrounged my nose, really not getting it; having my head leaned against Caleb's chest, he was chuckling back with warmth like he didn’t get it either.

“I don’t think that there are that many mated wolves even doing bane; it's more for young pups wanting to have fun….” I snorted hearing him teasing me at the end, so I was a young pup then, same as him… but he was right… no more of this... I could dance anyway, with my mate.

“I’m sorry, Cay. I’m sorry for listening to Kyle and…” Caleb's body got tense hearing me say his first Beta's name. I regretted it the second I did; it wasn’t Kyle's fault but mine.

“Don’t ever take anything from him, Luna…. Please…” I was nodding when my head was lifted, seeing Caleb's dark eyes wanting me to promise.

“I promise, Kyle can keep his bane to himself….” I smiled at the end when Caleb smiled back, believing me and kissing me softly when I was so happy that we were together, no matter what.

We were still kissing, hearing the loud cough, when someone was standing behind us, and I frowned, same as my mate, who turned around; the wolfsbane was finally about to start wearing off, seeing the yellow sparks in his eyes showing the world that his wolf was awake again.

“What??” I hated that Caleb was instantly aggressive seeing Kyle standing further away like he knew that if he came closer, he would get his ass beaten by my angry mate.

“I’m sorry, Caleb… look….” Kyle was holding up a phone when I was staring at the ten seconds of me shifting and growling; it had so many views that I thought my heart would stop! You were not supposed to shift around humans; I had done that!

“Caleb, omg!” I was panting, seeing the clip running again, and looking up at my stern mate, who also knew that. We all knew, and I had done the one thing you were not allowed to, rule number one!

“How bad is it?” I was already crying, knowing that I was going to be punished, I would, and for the first time in my life, I wished it was just my mother’s scolding that was waiting on me and not the head Alpha.

“Viral…. The humans don’t think it's real… you know that… but…...” Kyle shifted his eyes back to me, still crying against my mate like he felt guilty; he wasn’t the one that had shifted and been recorded; it was me!

“Emilia, I think we need to go back home…” Caleb sounded terrified, and I could feel him again; the head Alpha, my uncle, was going to make sure that this didn’t happen again, make a freaking example out of me, the future Luna! I should have known better!

“I’m not going to let anything happen to you, Luna, I promise.” The heavy words were inside my head again when I felt the slightest better, and I still did not believe him for a second; something was going to happen, and that was not Caleb's decision.

“Head out, bring the others home, and…. Let’s just try to ride this one out….” Caleb said to Kyle, who made a serious nod back. There was not one trace of the fun guy he had been before; he was just the beta listening to his Alpha.

“Let’s go, babe; it’s not going to get better if we keep away…” Caleb sounded like he knew from experience when I was still sniffling; yes, I knew that too…
