The hard knock on the door made me sit up fast, too fast when I was still not awake, causing a groan when I moved, and my muscles were sore everywhere. This night had been intense, to say the least, Caleb was an Alpha, and he was still waiting to go another round when the sun started to come up.
I didn't even want to look at the bed, seeing all the.... seed... that was over it, and me, mostly me... I didn't even have the lace gown on when the door opened. I shrieked, seeing an older woman walk inside, looking unimpressed at my naked body and the slightest at the bed like she knew what had happened, like everyone else.
“Luna Emilia,” she said it like it was my title; It wasn't. Caleb called me that, but it wasn't true. I wasn't the Luna until my mate became the head Alpha, and I knew that was not happening soon. I was grabbing one of Caleb's shirts he had left when he walked out this morning, and he told me something about patrolling. I was too tired after last night.
“I am Delta, Vivian.” She looked at me with big brown eyes as I stared stupidly at her. Was she a Delta? Thank the moon goddess... I relaxed my body in front of the older woman.
She was wearing a gray suit that fit her slim body perfectly, and she had her hair in a hard knot and looked at me thoughtfully as every wrinkle on her face had seen too many young girls like me in this house.
“We are to help.” She looked amused at my terrified face. Help me? It sounded like she would get me killed when she said it that way, but I nodded like I knew what was coming even though I had no idea.
"We, who are we?" I was scared when three more Deltas walked inside, all bowing their heads when I didn't make more than a surprised face. Oh, those guys, I see.
"Might I suggest a shower before we start?" Delta Vivian was the only one who didn't do a poorly hidden smirk, seeing that I still was standing naked underneath the shirt and Caleb's seed was all over me... I looked down, making the older Deltas smirk more; this was embarrassing!
"Yes, yes, of course...." I was stammering when I backed away, not meeting the eyes of the serious Delta. She didn't seem like the kind of woman to be messed around with, Delta or not.
I was standing in the shower long. Longer than I needed to, scrubbing the night of my sore body, Caleb and I didn't hold back when I made a smile; that was the only thing that made me happy now, him and me, being close.
He had told me more about this ceremony, other packs to get to know me, the higher rankings anyway, and that Alpha Terrence would save a lot of time and money if he squeezed my ceremony in before they all disappeared back to their own packs. To be honest, I just wanted to see my parents.
"Ah, let's look at you, young Luna, see what we can work with." I frowned when I heard Delta Vivian's patronizing old voice. She seemed indifferent to her own impoliteness, just like the head Alpha.
I was still standing in the towel, making another shriek, when she ripped it from my body. I had never shown myself naked if I couldn't avoid it, and now, she was standing there with three other women scrutinizing me.
"Are you out of your mind!?"I was yelling it out loud when the women were talking about me. Apparently, I was too small, skinny, and young to be Alpha Caleb's mate, unable to give him an heir with my hips. What the hell was that about anyway?!
"Silence!" Delta Vivian snapped back, making all the other women snickers die down. It seemed that she was frowning and was not in any mood being questioned.
"Hair up, long dress, white and make it a glossy one, bare shoulders, and I want the pearls the last Luna wore; tell Beta Cole I sent you." I gawked at her. Did she tell me what to wear and dress and let me wear the dead Luna's pearls? What??
Nobody of the other Deltas seemed to even see or hear my protest. Walking out when Delta Vivian was scoffing at me, still naked, she was a b***h, and I growled at her, showing a small condescending smile since she first stepped into the bedroom.
"Bare your teeth all you like at me, little wolf. It's not me that is the real power here. I am only here because of the head, and the faster you learn, the better." she said snappy, making me lose my anger and feel my mood sink. She was right, wasn't she? This was Alpha Terrence, not her, telling me what to wear and look like. I really was a prisoner, wasn't I?
Delta Vivian's eyes softened for one second before getting hard again when I stood here, looking lost.
I had forgotten that part last night, pushing it away, having fun, and enjoying myself with my mate, but now the reality was knocking on the door. I wasn't my own person anymore, just a damn puppet that was supposed to follow the commands of my master, Alpha Terrence.
"Don't look so gloomy, girl. You are the future Luna, Alpha Caleb's mate; there isn't a female out there who wouldn't want to be you." She stopped when I lifted my head, showing her my sadness and tears falling down my face. I wanted something else.
She didn't have time to say more when the first Delta was back, and she lost all the concern her eyes ever had shown, nodding towards me when I made a sigh. I guess this was it then, the start of my new life.
I was staring at myself in the tall mirror in the bedroom; the dress was, as Delta Vivian said, long and white, with bare shoulders, my hair was up, and I was wearing pearls that belonged to a dead Luna.
I was a bride.
Anyone could see that when I made a turn, Delta Vivian stared at me. She was the only one; the other Deltas left when they were done, and we stared at each other. Her eyes were cold, and mine were confused. Was I getting married? Oh, please, dear goddess. If I was, I hoped that it was Caleb. I didn't trust Alpha Terrence not to do something stupid against me, seeing that he hated my mother.
"I'm not going out there looking like this." I didn't even know where the rebelling in me had started, that she seemed to care but didn't lift a finger to help, or that my mate who had promised me to be here and help me was out, having fun running or being with his friends, I was alone, and she knew that.
"Tell it to the head, little wolf." She made a blank face when I growled. A little wolf, was I?! I would show her what kind of wolf I was when I shifted; she was not little!
"Caleb!" I shouted through the link, making Delta Vivian scoff like she could hear me when I knew she didn't.
"Caleb, get back here, or I'm going to shift and kill one of your Deltas, you hear me!?" I was still growling, and Delta Vivian smirked more. She wasn't afraid of me; well, she should be! I was an Alpha wolf, no matter how small I was in my human form!
"Let me tell you something, girl... you are here for one reason only, to secure the line of the Golden Moon pack. I don't care what you do or how you scream; if you follow the rules and keep on your toes, we will get along; otherwise, we have a problem..." She made a snarl in the end, her dark brown eyes glittering with her wolf making me even more pissed off.
I was just about to shift when the bedroom door slammed open. Caleb came inside, panting and shirtless, when I still was growling at the older woman, who immediately snapped her head down before him, feeling the heavy aura of his Alpha wolf pushing anyone close by.
"What the f**k is going on here, Delta Vivian? Why is my mate screaming like she is on fire? Explain yourself!?" He turned to the older woman, who didn't look at him. In fact, she didn't even move to make me feel even worse. He could have just asked me and not her!?
"I was sent over to help her prepare for the ceremony, Alpha Caleb; if there is a problem with your mate, I suggest you take it up with the head or her." Delta Vivian didn't even waiver; she was pushed down, but her voice was strong and sure. She wasn't afraid of Caleb either, it seemed.
"I'm asking you, not her or my father!" Caleb was barking at her when she made a blank face, not answering the big Alpha male who looked scary to anyone else.
Caleb sighed, dropping the big arms he had crossed, accusing, and nodding for her to leave like he knew there was no use pushing her. She was untouchable.
"Emilia, what happened!?" Caleb watched Delta Vivian walk out the door, staring at me like he didn't know what was wrong; wasn't it obvious? His father wanted to make me look like a stupid little girl, and I was dressed like this silly, naive virgin that..." He stopped me with a grin, coming forward and kissing me before I could finish my thoughts. I hated that I kissed him back. I did love him, but I sure didn't like being treated like I was stupid.
"You were a virgin yesterday..." He chuckled, pressing me against his sweaty chest when I made a smirk. Yes, I was, but not anymore, and I didn't appreciate being styled as a bride when I wasn't getting married, or did I miss something? I looked at his face, confused for about two seconds, like he was seeing the bridal outfit on me; so, we were getting married? He lost his grin hearing my thoughts, the intense sadness filling my chest. What did I miss?
"Nothing would make me happier, nothing at all, Emilia, but... we can't... you are still my cousin, and it's not legal." He made a sight when I stared at him. Wasn't it legal? I wasn't his cousin. He told me so himself that my blood tasted different.
"Nobody will know what you are. Do you understand that, you being an Alpha, we are keeping that low for the moment? I'm sorry, Luna." He did look sorry, still commanding me.
I sneered, pushing myself out of his arms. He called me Luna, but I couldn't tell anyone I was an Alpha. What kind of crap was that!? I still had my back against him, my chest heavy from all the feelings I was trying to keep in check, bursting out. I wanted to shift and kill anyone coming my way!
"Control yourself, Emilia, right now!" Caleb's dominating voice snapped back, making me look up, hurt from my devastated face. Control, what control? I had no control over anything in my life anymore! I was just a stupid girl meant to have his heir and stay quiet!
"Yes, that is part of why you are here! You will not make it in this house if you don't learn that. Do you understand that? I need you to be better, do better, or my father will make sure I can never be the head Alpha, and he will eat you alive, Emilia!" I closed my eyes, listening to the stern scolding from my mate who was supposed to love and care for me, not being the tyrant he was right now!
"A tyrant?! I'm trying to help you, and you are not helping me back, mate!" he growled when I started to cry, ruining the stupid makeup the Deltas had spent thirty minutes on. What did I care?? I was just here for breeding and no more. I didn't need to have a pretty face for that!
"Emilia, why are you talking like this? You were happy to tell me from the start that you wanted to have my heir. What has changed since yesterday? What more do you want from me!?"
Caleb sounded offended like this was about me not wanting that; of course, I wanted that! I loved him, but I wanted to be free too, at least not held prisoner here, in the wooden palace where you couldn't even stroll without being watched. I hated that!
"You hate this place or being mated to me?" I gasped hearing that challenging question, Caleb's face was stern, and he wasn't giving me any mercy. That wasn't fair! He knew what I had to give up and still questioned me, and I didn't even know that I could reject him!
"So, you would have rejected me then?" He had lost his anger when I was crying, no? Yes? I don't know, I didn't have much choice, did I when he brought me up to this bedroom and seduced me more or less!
I was still crying when he made a mocking smile, like the one he had done last night in his father's office, making me feel even worse standing here and being torn between how much I loved him and how much I hated being here, trapped and against my will!
"Seduced you? I wasn't the one that was drinking, showing off my t**s, and winking at any guy down at the bar; that was you. I have wanted you since I saw you, knew that I would do anything for you, and you were having the time of your life talking to Kyle, of all people!" I was staring at Caleb, that still was having a challenging smirk, so I was a w***e for talking to one guy that I didn't even touch, and Kyle was nicer than he ever was!
I started to growl again, tearing at the dress around me, when my hand came up to the pearls that I was just about to rip away from my neck when I stopped, feeling that hard sadness crushing me. It wasn't mine; it was Caleb's.
"Please, don't…" he said hard and sternly, then begged when I let go of the necklace; this was his mother's. Oh, goddess, I almost... I almost ripped it apart, and for what? Some stupid fight that I didn't even want to have.
"Caleb... please... please, I'm sorry..." I was trying to get myself together when he closed his eyes, not wanting to look at me. I didn't know what to do anymore. I just wanted us to be like he was when he left this morning, lovers and not the strangers we were, not even knowing what these pearls seemed to mean to him, my mate.
"Just take them off and send them back. I'm going down to the gym and returning for the ceremony." Caleb didn't look at my pleading face—no! I didn't want that, and I needed him! Didn't he understand that I was all alone here, and he was my only ally, the only one who cared for me when my parents were not allowed to come and see me?
"You're my only ally too, Emilia! For f***s sake, why don't you understand that!? We must work together, not against each other, or my father will win!" I stared, stunned at his upset face.
He was serious, wasn't he? Caleb made another growl, his yellow eyes sparkling through his charcoal, and I hated that I wanted him. No matter how angry I was, he still was the hottest guy I had ever seen.
"Alpha, please don't leave me!" My eyes sparkled golden-green back when the man, my mate, didn't hesitate, feeling my arousal, ripping the top apart, and showing my bare breast underneath, moaning from how he stared at me.
" I want you, Luna, to accept the role you have. We all have our place. Why does it have to be bad? Why fight it?!" Caleb was so close to my face that I held my breath, wanting him to touch me, grab me, and do more than just say things I didn't want to think about. I wanted him to take me.
" ... and I want answers, mate..." He made a grave face at my opened mouth, wanting to reach up and kiss him when he pulled up on purpose, making his lips just out of reach for me.
"I ... I don't know... I love you, and I want to.... but... I want more. Do you understand that? I want freedom, Caleb...." It made him frown more. I couldn't lie to him; he was my mate, and that was the truth. I wanted to be free, then we could settle down and be serious and boring like he was.
"You want boring? I will show you boring, Luna..." He pulled back, making me whine at him. No! He couldn't do that. He couldn't start me up and pull away when he didn't like the answers; that was not how this was supposed to work!
"Who said anything about pulling back? I'm just getting started, mate..." I gasped, feeling the strong hands around my waist, picking me up and putting me down on the bed, tearing apart the skirt on the expensive dress.
His eyes were yellow when I whimpered, feeling the cold air as he pushed my legs apart, one at a time, climbing me when I was breathing faster from seeing his determined face. He would have his way with me, and I was not stopping him.
"Tell me, Luna, tell me you want me, and I will give it to you..." He smirked, his yellow eyes staring at me when I fluttered and stared back with my wolf eyes. I wanted him. I needed him more than anything!
"Say it with words...." I was whining, his hardness grinding against my core; I would melt if he didn't start soon!
"I want you, Alpha, I want you to take me, have your heir, everything!" my voice was deeper, desperate when he made a smirk, pushing inside of me with a small gasp when he hit the spot that made me growl from how good it felt.
"That's right.... that's right, Luna, and don't you forget that I am your mate and your male, and you are going to listen!" Caleb made another growl, pushing his d**k hard when I grasped the bed sheet, arching my back to meet him. I loved and worshiped him and never wanted him to stop taking me!
"Yes, I'm going to listen, Alpha. I swear, I will!" My voice was barely making it out through the intense build-up, the pressure that was promising me pleasure when Caleb made a strong last thrust, pushing us both over the edge and falling down on me, panting and to my purr when my nails were scratching back to the growl from the pleasure.
Caleb was still on top of me, making me smile when I was still purring; he was so handsome and strong. I was so lucky to have him as my mate; he could protect me against anyone or anything.
"I would die for you; never forget that, Luna..." He made a serious face when I nodded, and I for him.
" I love you, Alpha...." my voice was still deep when he kissed me and pulled out, leaving his seed inside me and making me purr. I was happy to give him an heir and wanted to please him just as much as he pleased me.
