Alaina POV "I don't get why you always play that game," Kennedy asked while I played sand balls on my phone. "For time pass, I don't only play this game but others too. Sandballs is a fun game." "Are you leaving now?" "Yeah, Will wanna meet up for something important," I told her at the same time I got a message from him saying he is going to meet me in twenty minutes. "Gotta go, he will be there any moment," I said waving her a bye. I pushed my phone inside my pocket. I hummed to one of the songs which stuck in my brain. The roads are empty as everyone went to watch the football game. The season ends in a week. Everyone in the school is cheering and supporting our school team. They are in the top three, it's a very big deal to the football fans. On the game day, our classes are suspended as they want everyone to be present to cheer for the team. I didn't attend any match yet because I was sick all these days. It's a good thing that classes were suspended or else my parents would raise a tsunami if I didn't attend the classes. I reached the thick shake factory where I'm going to meet Will. I waited for Will while looking at the menu. I already tasted all the shakes. "Hey bro!" I turned around to see Will making his way to where I sat. "Hello bro!" I stand to do give him the bro hug. He took the chair in front of me. "So what's the important matter that you wanted to talk about?" "First let us order something. What you wanna have?" he said. "I will go for a choco-brownie shake," I said. "I will go and tell him," he said standing up. Once he settled down again, I waited for him to speak. "Alaina you are a very good friend...no you are my best friend. You helped me by acting as my fake girlfriend even though you know people gonna humiliate you. You stood by my side when you don't even know about me. When I couldn't speak a word when people asked me, you were there to answer all the questions making everyone shut their mouths. You made me realize that life needs to move on even when bad things happen... When a heart is broken. Without you knowing you became my guru helping me in my depression. You made me dream, you taught me the importance of having your own dreams and goals. The importance of facing difficulties and reaching them. I don't think I would fight with my family for choosing my own dreams and goals. And this one is for you." He took a deep inhale after speaking non-stop. I'm quite surprised at how he spoke in one go. "Okay, that's a huge speech and also a very emotional one. But what is for me?" I asked him. Whatever he said hit me in the heart because this is the first time that someone spoke so much about me. "Don't beat me or decide anything in angry," he said wearily pulling out a letter. "What's that?" I asked. "Why don't you read it by yourself, I will go and bring our drinks," he said pushing the letter to me and quickly getting up from the chair. I gave him a weird look before looking at the letter. I took out the sheet from the envelope. Hey Alaina, We read your manuscript, we've seen so many manuscripts and we didn't find that one manuscript which we want to direct. And finally when we got your manuscript "The love which was never forgotten." We are here to congratulate that we got the story which we are looking for. Your manuscript is approved by the Simmons productions. We are looking forward to meet you miss Alaina Davies. Once again congratulations and have a golden year ahead. I don't know what to say after reading the letter, I was startled for sure by reading as I never know how they got my story. No one except me knew about my writing. I always kept it a deep secret as I never want anyone to know about this. The letter is from Will's father production and company. This means Will is the one behind all this. He returned to the table with two thick shakes. I took mine while he sipped his. "How-How I mean how you got to know about my drafts?" I asked him. "When I used your laptop for the assignment. I read your drafts." "Oh, how did you manage to send my drafts to your dad?" he gave me a sheepish grin. "Remember I asked your phone for photos." "Yeah?" something is running in mind and I guess I got my answer. "I didn't ask for photos, I wanted to send those drafts to my email. Then I deleted the email." "Woah! That's..." I don't know what to say. I was at a loss of words. "Alaina, don't think much. You know where you want to go. This is the right way for you, you always wanted to write and don't leave it for someone else. You said you know something good is going to happen. Here it is, I want you to go after your dreams. Choose your path like I did." he said holding my hand, warmness flowed through my body. He have a sweet and genuine smile on his face. I smiled not in a romantic way, it was more like our friendship got to another level. I never had a true friend in my life, looking at him saying my own words to myself, reminding me is what hit my heart. "Saying my own words huh?" I said playfully. "Yeah, gotta remind the little brain of yours," he said hitting my head lightly. "Is it real?" I asked him looking at the letter. "Yeah! I helped you by sending the draft to my dad. His production team and he personally read your drafts before saying yes. They really loved your story. It's all your writing and no recommendations from me." I smiled... A real smile as I know what I'm going to do next. "Will am I going on the right path ?" I asked him. "Yes bro! You are doing right and I have faith in you. Whatever decisions you take I will be there standing beside you like you stood by my side without judging." "Thank you, Will! You don't know how much you helped me." he laughed. "So when you are going to meet my dad?" he asked. "I don't know... Maybe tomorrow. I have few conditions." his brows frowned as I said that. "Okay... My father is free tomorrow. I will pick you at your home?" "Okay." I'm happy... I'm beyond happy. All these days I was a lost soul searching for a direction. I don't know how I'm going to make my path but I was sure that I'm going to pursue my dreams. Now that I have a true friend who would be standing by my side. I felt like a lucky girl in the whole universe, having a true friend is very rare in this world. You don't know who is standing by you, who is biting you from the backside. Everyone is selfish trying to push you aside by being your friend. I feel happy that I found a friend when everyone is against us. It's funny how I and Will became friends in an unexpected time and unexpected way. * "I'm outside your house." "Two minutes," I said ending the call. I looked at my reflection before storming out of my room. My parents aren't home, they are at their workplaces. I'm meeting Will's parents and I'm excited and also nervous. I dressed in a simple white floral top and high waisted jeans. I tied my hair into a ponytail, I looked presentable and me. I saw Will in his sports car and did I say I love cars. "You look good girl!" Will complimented looking at my attire. "That I know," I said smirking seeing him roll his eyes. "Don't complain to me when my mom becomes touchy with you. She tends to hug when she likes someone," he says as I get into the car. "Oh, I don't think your mom will like me," I said adjusting my seat belt. "I'm damn sure she is going to like you. You are my best friend and she has to love you." I laughed listening to his words. "Did you finish assignments?" I asked him. "French and English assignments are pending." "Tomorrow our English sir will be giving our debate topics," I said glancing out of the window. "Yeah, how many topics he will be giving?" "Twelve I guess, we need to choose one from the bowl. The person who gets the same as you will be your opponent. If you are talking about positive the other person will be saying negative." I explain to him. "Ugh! We need to get B or A. If we want our grades to increase." he voiced out. I nodded my head in agreement. I looked at the modern lavish house in front of me. The garden is very good and even the fountain looked good. They have a pretty house I thought. I really don't like huge mansions and houses. I like medium size houses with a cute backyard. But I do love those french or Georgian homes built in the 1700s or 1800s. "My father is in his office," he said walking towards the huge staircase. "You guys have a huge house," I said which made him laugh. "Even I wonder why my father and mom needed this huge mansion." The floor is very neat and the curtains are not moving at all, it's like they glued to stay there. There are some sculptures for the showcase. They decorated everything by professionals I guess. Will knocked on the door before entering. I followed him and saw an older version of Will. I guess Will will be looking like his father in his old age. The old man smiled before gesturing to take the seats in front of him. I smiled before taking the seat. Will sat beside me. "Hello Mr Simmons, it's good to meet you," I said. "Hello Miss Davies, I'm happy that you are here. I personally read your manuscript and I found a gem," he said with a genuine smile. "Thank you, sir." "I will be announcing the movie to the public. We will have a press meet about the story and you as the writer of the story," he said. I shook my head as his face turned into confusion even Will's face changed. "Thank you sir for choosing my manuscript, I'm really looking forward to work with you and your team but I want my name to be a secret. I don't want to be on the front pages. I want to be a normal one, sir, I value my work and I don't want to be in the eyes of others." "I can understand, you are only seventeen and the pressure will be more. We will keep it as a secret but we need a pen name," he said. We started thinking about the names, I don't have anything in my mind. "Sunshine," Will said. "Huh?" I said. "Her pen name will be sunshine, dad," Will said. "Are you okay with that pen name?" Mr Simmons asked me. "Yeah, it sounds good," I said agreeing to Will's suggestion. "Next week we will be having a press conference then we will start the auditions. You have to be there to select the lead roles." Mr Simmons said. "Yes sir." "Stop calling me sir sweetheart, call me Tommy." "Okay, si–I mean Tommy." "And about your remuneration." "About that, I really don't need money right now but I need help from you instead of remuneration," I say in all seriousness. "I'm all ears," Tomy replied. I told him what help I need from him and he has a sweet smile on his. "I'm willing to help you, darling. You don't know how much you helped me and my wife by bringing our old Will back. For helping him and being with him when we couldn't understand our own son." "He is my best friend and I have to stand with him no matter what," I said playfully looking at Will whose ears turned light pink.
