Chapter Three

702 Words
No sooner than I get the words out my mouth, do we hear a knock on the door. It's after 6. Everyone in the pack knows my shop hours. I wonder who that could be. We both turn to see who is at the door. It is none other than Master Alpha Kenneth. See Master Alpha is the previous Alpha of the pack, sorta like an elder. The alpha of the Moonstone pack is going to be his son, Domitri or Dom for short. I believe they'll be holding his correnation in a week or so. The Moonstone pack got it's name from the odd myth that every alpha in their lineage wears a moonstone gem on their person at all times. It's said that the moonstone gem helps the alphas control a Lycan side that only few packs have. Of course the alphas never would acknowledge that it was true or not. *Would you?* Pearl asked. *No, I can't say I would.* I answered in my head. With Alpha Kenneth at the door, I closed the box and made my way to the door. The closer I got to the door the more I could feel his fearsome predator aurora. It wasn't threating but calming like the feeling you would get from a lounging lion. He had clean cut salt and peppered gray black hair. His golden brown eyes looked the color of honey in the sun. Looking down his straight nose at his phone, I could tell he was reading. He was wearing a suite that screamed 'I have friends in high places'. It was some Italian name brand, definitely custom trailered pen stripe suite with a white button up shirt underneath. Very luxurious. His whole personna shouted 'I mean business'. I'm guessing he heard me move because as soon as I was at the door he looked up at me. *Alpha.* Pearl stated. *Yes, I know Pearl.* I told her. *I can see him.* *No need to be a bitch.* She scoffed. Standing directly in front of the glass door now, Alpha Kenneth is waving at me through the window with a smile. I smile in return. I unlock and open the door, bowing my heading I do so. It's a werewolf way of showing submission and that we mean no threat or disrespect. Even though I can't see her I know Amber is doing the same thing. Alpha Kenneth nods his head in acknowledgement as he steps throw the doorway "Evening ladies." Alpha Kenneth says with a smile. "Good evening Master Alpha." We reply in unison. We look at each other surprised, then smile. "What can I do for you this evening Master Alpha?" I ask. He smiles. Then turns to address Amber. "Congratulations on the engagement, Ms. Spell." He told her. "On behalf of the Moonstone pack, we wish you two nothing but hapiness." Ambers face lights up. "Thank you Master Alpha," She says hurriedly. "It's an honor to hear you speak those words." "Of course, Ms. Spell." He says. "We wish you the best of luck. But if you don't mind, I need to speak with Ms. Tate about some official pack business." "Oh! No problem, Master Alpha!" She says and goes to grab her keys off the counter. "Paige call me when you get home, okay?" "Okay. Bye" I tell her as she is walking away. Master Alpha and I stand in silence until she is gone and I have locked the door. "Yes, Master Alpha?" I ask respectfully. "Ms. Tate, as you know so much on the different types of plants and where to get them," he starts. "I need you to look around and keep your eyes open for wolvesbane." What he said sent shivers down my spine. Too much and it could kill multiple different wolves who come in contact with it. But just the right amount in some warm tea is the best damn nightcap a werewolf could ask for. Unless you're a licensed herbalist, you could get into a lot of trouble if you got caught with any at all. It's that dangerous. "Wolvesbane, sir?" I asked to make sure I heard him correctly. "Yes, Ms. Tate." He answered. "Wolvesbane."
