Chapter 23 - Arrange The Thread of Fate

In a large area, various trees rose about seven meters high.

In the midst of the beautiful trees, there was a sturdy tent made of animal skins.

In front of the sturdy tent, there was a red-yellow flame that was constantly burning wood. Then on top of the yellow-red flame, there was a metal pot simmering a food stock containing some beef jerky and mushroom pieces.

The jerky let out tiny foam bubbles as the golden yellow oil continued to sizzle into it. The sweet smell of beef jerky constantly tempts the two people around the fire.

Not only that, even around the fire many pieces of tree branches were used to roast some small fish that had been caught from the river.

Around the bonfire, a little girl with blonde hair looked at the food in front of her with her eyes that were bright blue like sapphire gems. The little girl could only swallow her saliva while resisting the astonishing temptation of the immature food in front of her.

The little girl subconsciously turned her head to the side.

Beside him was a black-haired boy sitting cross-legged while reading a mysterious black book in his hand humming a tone of voice that was very foreign to the little girl's ears.

That's right, that person is William. He hummed happily after seeing the events that had occurred in the cause and effect book.

“Young master, what are you looking at to be so happy about?”

Chiaki tilted his head curiously when he saw William's mood.

"I'm reading a very interesting story, do you want to see it too?" William replied with a smile on his face, he thought maybe the little girl would be a little interested in the mess that William made.

"Really young master?" The little girl asked excitedly and sat together near William.

Seeing the little girl sitting beside him, William just shook his head and lifted the little girl's body to sit on his lap.

Then William offered the white bamboo brush to hold it together, “Hold this white bamboo brush with both your hands! Don't hold it tight!"

"Alright, young master!" The little girl nodded her head obediently.

Even so, William could still see the confusion the little girl had.

Then the two of them read what was written in the book of cause and effect.

Four days ago, after being the head of the Lux family, Boden Lux gave a private message to the Crust Family to return the Soul Artifact that belonged to Captain Alex. The mysterious soul artifact is thought to have come from a cult of the abyss of death and is linked to a nighttime explosion in Borough's province.

When that happened, the main suspect, Captain Alex, was brought personally to the room of the head of the Crust family, Agesta Crust. Having no other choice, Captain Alex can only accept his fate to be personally interrogated by Patriarch Agesta Crust. Captain Lux started to explain everything without being able to hide anything. Of course, everything he said was following what the owner of the book had written.

Then, a situation that the book owner wanted to be had come true. The Head of the Crust Family, Agesta Crust, was greatly tempted by the ability to increase one's cultivation base through the special abilities of the soul artifact.

The mysterious soul artifact will suck the user's life energy to create a soul energy crystal bead. With those soul energy crystal beads, one could refine them into their soul for use.

Even though the soul artifact charged a high price for the wearer, it was easily neutralized by the Crust Family. All they needed to do was get the criminals on death row in their area of responsibility to use the mysterious book-shaped soul artifact.

Then in response to the statement made by the Lux family, it was all flatly rejected by the head of the Crust family, Agesta Crust. The head of the Crust family stated that what the Lux family stated was a lie. Then the Crust family simply handed over another soul artifact to the Lux family which was not the original artifact that Captain Alex had obtained.

Conditions between the two major families in the Feysac Kingdom had heated up due to the matter.

Then the day before the book-shaped soul artifact disappeared, the Feysac king also issued an order for the Crust family to hand over the soul artifact to the kingdom.

When the head of the Crust family heard the decree from the king, the head of the Crust family, Agesta Crust, broke out in a cold sweat. As part of the Feysac Kingdom, all they could do could only obey the decree and hand over the soul artifact.

On their way to the Feysac royal capital, the soul artifact suddenly disappeared from their hands.

The feysac king who heard the news became angry because he couldn't believe what the Crust family members said. Not only the king, even the head of the Boden Lux family, and the other family heads accused the Crust family of lying.

In such an unlucky position, Agesta Crust came personally to the feysac royal capital along with a precious item in his storage ring. Then Agesta Crust explained it honestly to the Feysac king and gave the precious item as his apology.

Not only that, even Agesta Crust made a cruel decision to prove his innocence. He killed everyone related to the disappearance of the book-shaped soul artifact. Especially Captain Alex, that person is the mastermind behind all the causes that are happening to the Crust Family right now.

In the tense and cruel situation that occurred in the Crust family, the feysac king also forgave the mistakes made by the Agesta Crust Family Head.

But what everyone didn't know was that the 'seed of corruption' planted by the owner of the book had managed to secretly enter the Crust Family.
