Chapter 11( Wrong)

I keep on looking at myself on my full body length mirror. My rose gold sleeveless satin dress with slit up to my thighs match with my not so darker make up look. I chose to tie my hair on a half bun. There were twirls on the tips of my hair. The golden necklace with a heart pendant shines brightly on my neck.

I then sighed. Am I really going to that party? Why did I say yes for his deal again? Its so frustrating to think about!

But then obviously I dont have a choice. I'm just lucky that our department assigned an opening program for the festival days this evening, a perfect thing to reason out.

I reach for my silver sling bag and once again look at my reflection on the mirror.

I then get out from my room and notices that its almost 6 in the evening. On my way down I saw Mom and Dad in the sofa. They both look up the moment they saw me. Mommy stood up and smile. She went to move closer and lightly touches my hair.I smiled at her and glance at Dad. Daddy then smiled and nodded, making me nod at him too.

"Have fun okay. Dont worry. I already told your Dad that you'll be back at 10. Enjoy the rest of your free hours" Mommy said while smiling.

I cant help but laughed fakely. I know from the very beginning that I'm just lying that I'm going for our departments opening. I really hate lying to my parents. This could be the very first time that I'm gonna lie! Urgh! This is all that i***t's fault! I swear I'm not gonna talk with moron after this.

The car moved and second later I'm on my way to the school. Speakers are on full blast and I even saw girls outside the school's gate arriving with their party dresses.

I get out from the car and Matias, our driver opened the door for me.

"I'll text you if its done. You can go back now. Thank you" I said politely.

Matias nodded then get back inside the car. The headlight blink and the car moved back on the way home. I sighed and started walking when suddenly a beep from a car made me flinch because of nervousness.

With wide eyes, mouth widely opened and my hands place on my chest I look back at who did the horns.

And there it was, Mau, the i***t, smiling while looking at me on his driver seat.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. He laughed and decided to get out from his car. His cars new. Its different from the car he usually drive into school.

I snap at him immediately the moment he came nearer.

"What the hell?! Are you gonna kill me because of heart attack? You know that...... nevermind. Lets just go." I used not say the words instead. I dont want to keep on blaming him the whole time. I'm here already and its so useless to go home.

He grinned. "You're no fun"

"Yes I'm not! And your stupid" I saw how his eyes widened because of what I just said. I cleared mu throat. Its his fault, I'm pissed right now thats why I cant control the words coming from my mouth. I gazed back at him almost laughing when I saw how he acted so shock and hurt. Really?

He scoffed. "You're the very first person in this world who told me that. But I'll let it passed. Since you just said that because of frustration. I know I'm not stupid. I'm a genius one. A handsome and genius guy you are so lucky to be friends with"

Unbelievable. This i***t's confidence level is higher than our mountain ranges. I shake my head disappointedly.

He look on his wrist and his silver rolex watch shines. I get that as a chance to look at his outfit for tonight. His hair is on a different style right now. It was brush up to look formal and modest. He's wearing a black tuxedo with a bow tie, his slacks made his legs taller than I think it could be. All in all he look good. But then there still this playful look on his lips. His diamon earing shines from his left ear too which added to his playful self.

"Lets go" He said. I sighed and nodded. He was about to open the passengers seat for me when a man suddenly went nearer. I look at the man and recognizes that it was one of his body guards.

"Sir, Senyorita purposely told us to drive you with your company way back home" A man with a bulky body said.

I glance at Mau and saw that he's starting to look really pissed.

"What? No way! I can do it. I did the driving here so basically I can do it back too."

"But sir we dont want you to get tired because of driving. Senyorita wont like the idea if you'll be driving the car"

"Just stop it okay?! I said I can do it! Can you just all disappear right now? You're embarrasing me!" He tone down his voice on his last words. I almost laughed because of it.

The man then nodded. "Alright sir. But dont forget this"

I laughed silently looking at Mau, who were offered by a bulky man with a purple tumbler. He snatch it from the man's hand and frustratedly turn his back.

Oh my. I cant help but laughed so hard. Who would have thought that a guy so full of himself, adored by many girls for his manliness would be like this. Treated like a baby!

"What? Aren't you coming in?" He asked, this time still pissed. I grinned at him looking so annoyed.

"Alright I'm coming in. You're a baby" I murmured silently the last word.

Mau didnt heard it and he just turn around to get into the drivers side. I look at him coming in and how put the tumbler on his back seat. I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling more.

He was serious the whole time. It felt weird not to hear him talking. Maybe his really embarrassed with what happened earlier. I was wondering if all the girls here at school knows the real him. I bet his friends doesn't even know too, looking at them so afraid at him made me laughed so hard.

It was after a minute when he started clearing his throat.

"By the way. Its my sister's birthday today. She just came back from the US that's why my parents decided to host for a party."

I nodded without looking at him. But when I realize what he meant I gazed back at him with wide eyes. This time a bit shocked and problematic to what he just said.

"A birthday? You din't said it was a birthday?! I dont have a gift! Can we atleast buy something! You i***t! Why didn't you tell me sooner? Are you mad? I did not bring anything! It felt like I just come with you just to party!" I said frustratedly.

"Relax okay? You dont need to bring gifts cause I bet there would be a lot of gifts for my sister's birthday. Don't worry, just act cool and pretend that you brought a gift even if you dont" He laughed after he saw me glaring at him.

"Chill okay? Lets just have fun."

I sighed and pouted. Trying to calm myself.

"What about your other friends? Are they there already?" I asked.

Mau then cleared his throat. He look at the rearview mirror then glance at my direction.

"They're not coming. Uh, I just only invited you.. cause you know, like I said, I want to know you and be friends with you."

I scoffed at him unbelievably this time. This i***t is going to kill me for frustration tonight. I bit my lip and just heavily sighed.

I never said a word after. My nervousness and uneasiness doubled when I realized that were now entering their place. 

A tall and big gate welcomed us. Two guards are there standing while opening the gate. Their place is so big. Were not on their house yet and we still need to drive another 5 kilometers.Well, if he is indeed the Mayor's son then he must be living on a luxuries house such as this.

I held my breath the moment the car stops. I glance at the big angel fountain at the center. I can see from here a lot of guards standing in front and each side of the mansion. Yes mansion. Staring up at the house in front of me is a real definition of a mansion.

"Were here." Mau suddenly said. He get out from the car leaving me as pale as ice inside.I know that I grow up with a wealthy family but then they're much more wealthier! And I didnt know them. Even a slightest background! And how stupid of me not to think that maybe Grayson and Mau might be really related? Afterall there just one mayor in the town!

If thats it then...could it be possible that I'll be seeing him here now? And then what? What about their familiy? I was rumored before as Grayson's love affair, a mistress!.... and now I'll be showing here feeling like nothing and I'll just attend their party?

What am I thinking?!

Mau knocked the door. I didnt breathe when I look at him. His brows furrowed as he opened the door. I tried to stop him from opening it but I was too preoccupied a while ago that it was too late to do it!

I dont have a choice but to get out.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

I gulped. "C-can I just....Can I l-leave? Please."

I really sounded so desperate that I couldnt even recognized my own voice.

His lips twitched and then he laughed, making me look at him with disbelief.

"Oh no you wont. There's nothing to worry about. I told you, they womt harm you here just because you've forgotten to bring something. Lets go" The i***t said instead.

I was left with no choice. I'll die because of annoyance trying to talk with sense on this guy. People started looking at us too. That's why I decided to just moved my a*s up

With gritted teeth I follow Mau's back. I grip my bag tigthly and just imagine that I'm some little butterfly flying around in this place. Ofcourse I'll choose the butterfly one and not some rat strolling around.

Well what the hell Ads? Are you for real right now? You're on this mess and you keep on thinking not to be a rat and be a butterfly one?

Mau glance at me and he wink. I almost rolled my eyes at him but I stop when I notice that a couple were suddenly nearing. And thats when I realize that it was Mau's parents.

"Good evening Dad,Mom." Mau said while kissing his mother's cheeks.

I pinch my hand and bowed down when the two of them glance at my direction.

"G-good evening Madam, Sir." I stutterly said.

Mau's mother is on her late forties but her beauty and elegance never fades. I can say that base on how she looks right now wearing a red long dress. Her hair is on a tight bun and her jewerlies are on point. She smiled at me and I can see that she somewhat resembles Mau. She was fair and tall. I then glance at his father. His father's expression is easy to describe. He seems mad and serious. I suddenly remember Grayson looking like him when he's older.

"Hi! Nice to meet you. You are?" Mau's mother opted to speak instead of his father.

I laughed awkwardly.

"U-uhm, I'm Adeline Rivera Madam. I came here with Mau. W-ere school mates" I replied.

His father gazed back at me immediately after I introduce my name. I glance back at Mau's mother and saw that her eyes slightly widened. She smile, a small one and then glance at her husband beside her.

I glance at Mau's father and saw how his jaw clenched. He then tap Mau's shoulder and turn his back. Mau's mother, who doesn't even introduces her name first, glance at me with an apologetic look before she followed her husband..

I mean. I was just kinda surprised about what just happened. Is there something wrong?

I look at Mau and saw how he gritted his teeth.

"Is..there something wrong?" I asked.

"Its nothing. Sorry about that, Dad might had a bad day at the council"

I battled my eyelashes with what he said. I know that maybe I'm right with what I am thinking but I want to clarify it..

"Is your father... a government official?"

Mau look at me like I ask some stupid question.

"He's the Mayor here" He answered leaving me breathless.

If his father is the Mayor? Then am I right? Is he....Is he Grayson's brother?

"Hey little Maui! What took you so long. Its my birthday tonight so you have to give me some tight hug and kisses. Come on! Oops sorry!"

I was still in shocked of what I just found out when a beautiful lady showed up. Her hair is jet black and her doe eyes sparkled. She's so beautiful on her backless spaghetti strap silver dress and I can obviously tell how tall she is than me.

"Oh! You have a date?! Oh my! I must call Joseph. Joe Come here. Maui's brought a date!" She giggidly said.

Most of the guest look at her direction making me pale as I could ever be.

"Ate come on! Dont embarass me okay? She's my friend!" Mau said but I dont think her sister heard him. I look at her and saw her joining the crowd of men. There were five of men in a tux ,talking, and most of them are on their late forties. I suddenly notice the familiar built that the lady tried to talked to.

Mau groaned and apologized for his sisters behavior. While I remained gasping looking at Grayson. The beautiful girl was pulling his arms and Grayson looks like annoyed with the girl's stubborness. He accidently gazed back at my direction and I feel like my breathing stops. Dug dug. There's that familiar heartbeat again.

He stared at me for a second before his eyes lifted on the space beside me. And if I'm not hallucinating I can see that he's mad.
