6 The air conditioning blasted from the old car’s vents, sending particles flurrying around his face like a dust storm. Austin leaned back in the driver seat and enjoyed the lack of traffic. When Mom had been hired at the doctor’s office, they’d used a credit card to fix Dad’s old Honda. The final bill covered a new transmission, new tires, and an overall tune up.
