Rylan’s POV
A white wolf. She was beautiful, and I felt like I knew her from somewhere but could not put my finger on it.
Who was she?
The moon goddess had paired us together for a reason. I was blown away by surprise. A white wolf was rare, and she must have held some power wherever she came from.
Daniella whining in my ear was irritating the life out of me. I couldn't believe my brothers convinced me to take her as our mate.
Rio was more into her than any of us, so ever since we were small, our parents had believed that the moon goddess would pair us with Daniella due to her being the daughter of the better. It was assumed she would be our Luna. We needed a strong and capable female to work alongside us to lead our pack successfully.
My parents had done a grand job of running Creek for all of these years, and I wanted to follow in their footsteps
Although Daniella was a beautiful, stunning she-Wolf, I could never pretend she was the one for me. Even though my three brothers and I were quadruplets and shared a wolf, I still had my mind; I made my own choices.
Rio was convinced Daniella was our mate, but I disagreed. I never felt that connection or pull towards her, and the fact that she turned 18 today, I knew the only way to confirm that was to meet her in person alone.
Not only was today Daniella‘s birthday, but it was also the day we returned from our alpha training. We have been away for over a year, and Rio had been non-stop about Daniella. He missed her. He wanted to mark and mate with her, but I strongly disagreed, believing our faithful Luna was out there somewhere.
I was a little late getting to the meeting spot where we’d arranged to meet up, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw Daniella standing a few feet from the most beautiful, stunning wolf I have ever seen. What shocked me even more was that this white wolf had destroyed a rogue on her own; it showed me she could handle herself, and she could handle anything that was thrown her way. She was a dream. A dream come true. She would make the perfect Luna for the Creek pack—no doubt about it.
But she was gone now, and I had to find her. All because of Daniella and her jealousy. She should know from being a beta daughter that finding your mate is no joke; it must be taken seriously. Her lack of empathy and selfishness confirmed that she was not Luna material and certainly not for me.
I just had to make my brothers see that, too. I had wondered how life at the pack had been without us there. I was sure the little omega tramp Eliza was cowering in a cupboard. Wondering what pranks us quadruplets brothers had in store for her,
A chuckle left my lips as I remembered all the fun things we had got up to growing up as children. Poor little orphaned Eliza had always been at the brunt of it. I should probably give her her due, though. She was always taking it on the chin, never complaining. That girl certainly did know her place in the pack. She always awaited us hand and foot, just like the good little Omega.
I’m surprised; my parents still have her at Creek Pack since she’s not officially a member. My mother found her abandoned in the woods.
Goodness knows what her birth parents must’ve thought of her, hence why they couldn’t stand to look at her. That’s why they wanted to get rid of her; luckily, my mother has a kind soul and would do anything for anyone.
My parents were good enough to take that omega in, and last I heard, the omega still had no Wolf. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for anyone the moon goddess would end up pairing her to. Who would want a wolfless mate? How would she be able to defend herself against rogue attacks and life in general? She stood no chance out there in the real world. She was lucky our pack had taken her in. She owed them big time.
“Rylan, please don't tell Rio about that b***h. Tell him I am your destined mate. Don't break his heart.” Daniella’s whingey voice made me want to slap her. She had no idea how annoying she was. Did she believe that I would lie to my brother?
“Are you crazy? Daniella, I will never accept you as my mate or Luna.” I snarled.
"Rylan, we're here! What's going on? What happened?" Rio's shout echoed in my ears as he sprinted towards us.
“Oh, my Rio. I'm in so much pain. Please help me.” Daniella held her arms up to my stupid brother.
“Oh, my,” Rio exclaimed, examining Daniella’s leg. She was always the dramatic drama queen, but this time, it was clear the white wolf had caused some harm.
I regretted not going after the wolf sooner, not asserting my dominance and making her submit to me. With beta blood running through Daniella’s veins, I knew Daniella would have healed fast. She was acting over the top to make Rio stick by her side.
“Our mate did this to her after she attacked her.” I pointed angrily at Daniella. Having had enough of her nonsense.
“No. Rio. I..” Daniella began to say and burst into tears yet again. I was not too fond of tears and anyone crying; it was a sign of weakness.
Rio's eyes widened in shock, "Our mate? Who is she?"
I turned to look at where the white wolf had disappeared, my heart beating fast with the need to find her again. "I don't know, but she's the one, Rio. I have to find her."
Rio frowned, looking conflicted. "But what about Daniella? She's our mate." he knelt to scoop her into his arms. I watched in disgust as she nuzzled into him. She had Rio wrapped around her little finger, and we all knew it. The other two would have understood me, but they hadn't appeared. I thought maybe they were at the pack.
I shook my head, knowing Daniella was not the one. "No, Rio. She's not our Luna. She's not the one that the moon goddess has chosen for us. You better get used to the idea.”
