Chapter 7 It’s been two days since Mrs. Duran passed away, and I still haven’t found someone to watch Riley for me. I’m late for work in the morning so I can drop her off at school on my way to the funeral home, and Molly runs out to pick her up in the afternoon. For now, Riley’s been content to sit in the break room with a coloring book, the small TV on the counter turned to cartoons, but it isn’t a permanent solution and I know it. Sooner or later I’ll have to take the time to find something better, either a sitter like Mrs. Duran or maybe afterschool daycare. She needs someone who can give her the attention she deserves, and when I’m at work, that simply isn’t me.
