Chapter Three THE ALARM ON his cell phone rang, jarring Edwin into an uncomfortable wakefulness. He rolled over on the couch, doing his best not to fall off as he reached for the phone on the cluttered coffee table to shut off the alarm. Once the place was silent once again, he collapsed back onto his pillow, his eyes closed, hoping he could recapture just a few more minutes of sleep. It was no use.
