Chapter 8

-Hazel POV- “I don’t understand why Uncle Dante and Echo took Maeve away? And why aren’t you leading me inside?” I pound my mom with questions as I try to wrap my head around what is going on. Not knowing what is going on, along with being separated from my sister, has me on a slight edge. Especially since something has been going on with her. My twin may think that I haven’t noticed, but I have that something caused her to slightly change about 3 years ago. How can she not know that I can hear her every single time that she gasps awake, sometimes yells, or that she sneaks out of the house. We are connected in some ways, so I can always tell when something is going on or changed. I want to confront her about it… but something is holding me back. I think it is the fact that I want her to feel like she can come to me about it. I figure it has something to do with her dream ability. About how she can dream of the future, but I am not sure. Everyone thinks that I am just the stupid little twin sister that likes to wear dresses and talk about mates, but I am more than that, goddamnit. Hayden: MATE! My wolf's screams break me out of my thoughts. I don’t think as I let the scent of my mate guide me around the pack house. I barely take a full step around the corner before I stop short. “Oh, s*it,” I mutter out as I take in my mate. He is so fu*king handsome. Standing at about 6 feet 2 inches tall. My eyes take in his muscles that are showing through the 3 piece suit he is wearing. Slowly lifting my eyes up, I take in his adams-apple that sticks out just a little bit. I want to lick it. Still lifting my gaze, I take in his chiseled jawline, full lips, dark brown eyebrows that are bushy, his dark brown curly hair that is slightly shaggy, and finally… my eyes land on his eyes. All breath leaves me as his teal-colored eye with a white outer line around his pupil has my feet moving towards him. “Hello, Hazel.” This handsome mate of mine whispers out as I come to stand right in front of him. Words fail me as I just take him in. Letting his scent wash over me as his eyes keep bringing me until... “Oh, shit.” My eyes go wide as I finally realize who I am staring at. “You are the Werewolf King?!” He just chuckles at me. I guess finding me cute while I am having a mid-panic. Jerk. “I am. King Sebastian is what my subjects call me, but you will call me whatever you want.” Okay, I take back the ‘Jerk’ comment. But, seriously, how is he so fu*king calm?! I can’t hold it in any longer. “How in the f*ck am I mated to you?? I mean, seriously, I am a nobody compared to you. You should be with an Alpha’s daughter or someone who has high standing within a pack.” I find myself word-vomiting as my wolf is yelling for me to shut up, but I can’t. I literally cannot stop. Me being fated mates to the Werewolf King should not happen. I am nobody special. He needs to be mated with a f*cking bimbo Alpha daughter or something. A snarl breaks me away from my thoughts and word-vomiting. I look to Sebastian to see him frowning at me. I go to say something, but all that leaves me is a gasp as he grips the side of my neck. Sparks dance all over my body from the contact while he lays his forehead down on mine. All I can do is just stare into his eyes that hold me hostage. “I am sorry for snarling at you, but I needed you to stop. I could no longer hear the words coming out of your mouth or see your mind racing with poisonous thoughts. You need to understand that I am so happy to find out that I am not mated to someone who only cares about a title. You see me for me. You do not wish for my title, as I can feel that you only wish for me. For the mate bond that will bind us together. Look at me, Hazel.” Sebastian whispers to me in a soft voice that calms down my entire body. I lean into touch, letting all of my worries melt away along with my self-doubt. “Okay, bash.” “Bash, huh?” I can feel a blush start to creep up my neck as I shut my eyes. “No, don’t go all shy on me now, Haze. No one has ever given me a nickname, so I am honored that the first time I get one is from my mate.” I slowly open my eyes. “No one has ever called me Haze before.” “Hmm, and no one ever should. Just me.” “OH! I need to tell my twin. Come on.” I say rather quickly while spinning on my heels. Grabbing at his hand, I make sure to drag him behind me. “And we need to tell her right now?” Bash asks with a chuckle. I look over my shoulder to give him a fake glare before looking facing forward again. “Yes. You will come to understand that I need to tell her everything. I need her to be happy for me. To approve.” I mutter the last statement in a whisper. Bash doesn’t say anything else, as he just lets me pull him. As soon as I walk around the corner, I shriek out in happiness. It would seem that my sister has found her own mate. Although, her mate doesn’t smell like a wolf. Hmm. I don’t have time to process that when my sister yells, “WHAT??!” at me. I just smile as I let go of Bash’s hand to dart towards my sister. I just look at her mate before uttering, “Excuse me.” He gives me a smirk while letting her go. I slam my body against hers in a tight hug. “We found our mates,” I whisper in her ear, with happiness radiating in my voice. “That we did.” Maeve pulls back a bit to look into my eyes. “And you deserve all of the happiness in the world, twin sister.” I give her one more tight hug before letting her go. I take a few steps back when I come to feel a hand on the small of my back. Quickly wiping off my face, I turn to smile at my mate. “Now, are you going to tell me who this is?” I ask my twin as soon as I turn my head back towards her. I quirk an eyebrow at her. My twin gives me a slight smirk. “This is King Casimir, also known as the Vampire King.” I take notice of how Casimir wraps an arm around my sister's waist before pulling her into his side. Good. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Hazel.” Casimir’s deep voice only causes me to blink at him. “It is nice to meet you, too,” I tell him with a small smile. Turning my attention to my twin, I take note of the way that she is leaning against him. It is almost as if some weight has been lifted off of her shoulders, good. “Who knew we would be mated to Kings, huh?” I ask her with a chuckle. My twin laughs along with me. “Yeah, I know. Although, I didn’t think that one of us would be fated mates to the Vampire King, let alone the Werewolf King.” She then turns her attention to Bash. “I am Maeve, her twin. It is nice to meet you, Werewolf King.” I roll my eyes at her. “It is nice to meet you too. But please, do not ever call me Werewolf King again; just Sebastian will do.” All of a sudden, my sister drops her smile as something cold takes over her face. “Hurt my sister in any way, and I will personally hunt you down before I rip you to pieces. You get me?” “What the f*ck.” I whisper/yell while giving her a glare. “It’s okay, Haze.” Bash whispers to me as I feel his lips touch my hair. “I would never dream of hurting your sister in any way, nor will I ever allow anyone else to cause her harm.” “Good, now this is my mate, Casimir. Casimir meet Sebastain. Sebastian meet Casimir.” “Pleasure,” Bash says while holding his hand out. I barely caught the way that Casimir’s eyes flared before he shook hands with Bash. “Nice to meet you too.” His flat tone is something that no one misses. Clapping my hands together, I bring the attention to me. “Let’s go party.”
