The sunset, the beach, the waves, the cactus.
Martin looked at the picturesque scenery before him, but he had no time to enjoy it. Instead, he lay on the beach, feeling melancholic and utterly exhausted.
This was an uninhabited island.
A vast deserted island in the boundless sea, with no one around.
Martin was a third-year student at Hereward University. A few days ago, the university celebrated its anniversary, and the entire faculty and student body went on a sea trip. Unexpectedly, the cruise ship encountered problems, resulting in an accident, and sank.
Fortunately, Martin encountered waves at sea and was swept onto this deserted island.
"I wonder how the others are doing, if any of them survived?" Martin shuddered at the thought of what happened the day before.
After lying on the beach to regain some strength, Martin felt much less fatigued.
"Surviving such a disaster must mean good luck is coming!" A moment later, Martin climbed up from the beach.
Now that he was on this deserted island, he had to find a way to survive.
Martin hadn't eaten anything for a day. The urgent task now was to find food to fill his stomach and regain his strength.
Not knowing what dangers might lurk inland, Martin decided to search the beach for fish or shrimp.
"Help... help me!" Suddenly, a faint voice came from the sea.
Hearing this voice, Martin was jolted. Someone was calling for help.
Following the faint voice, he saw a person floating on the sea, a woman.
From the weak voice just now, it was not difficult to tell that this woman was already very weak, and now she was beginning to sink into the sea.
"Hold on, I'm coming to save you!" Seeing this, Martin almost without hesitation, rushed toward the sea where the woman was.
With tremendous effort, Martin hauled the woman from the sea to the shore.
Martin collapsed on the beach, gasping for air. Already exhausted and weak, he was now almost unable to hold on.
"No, I must hold on!" Martin secretly gritted his teeth to encourage himself.
After a few deep breaths, Martin gritted his teeth, got up, and glanced at the woman beside him, who lay face down, motionless.
"Could something be wrong?" Martin felt a bit panicked seeing the woman motionless.
The next moment, Martin quickly turned the woman over to check her condition.
"It's her!" Martin was stunned when he saw the woman's face.
The woman had extremely delicate features and fair skin, wearing tight shorts and a T-shirt that accentuated her curvaceous figure. Even in unconsciousness, her stunning aura remained undeniable.
Martin was stunned not because of her looks, but because he knew this woman.
Aimee, also a student at their university.
Moreover, she was in the same department as Martin.
Additionally, Aimee had a nickname, the Ice Queen, and was the campus belle of their department. With her prominent family background, she was a wealthy heiress with countless admirers. To many, she was a goddess and a dream girl.
Of course, Martin was one of them.
Martin, on the other hand, was just an ordinary student from a rural background, with no remarkable qualities or special connections.
Compared to Aimee, they were worlds apart.
"Surviving a disaster must bring good fortune; could this be mine?" Martin muttered to himself as he looked at Aimee.
However, Martin quickly snapped back to reality; now was not the time for idle thoughts, saving her was urgent.
He reached out to check Aimee's breathing; she was still alive but very weak, her face pale, and her abdomen swollen, likely from swallowing seawater while adrift.
Martin had some knowledge of first aid for drowning victims.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was necessary to quickly expel the seawater she had ingested.
Martin knelt beside Aimee, crossing his palms over her chest. Due to the sensitivity of the area, Martin could clearly feel a warm, soft fullness.
Martin focused solely on the task, pressing firmly.
"Pfft..." After pressing for a while, Aimee spat out several mouthfuls of seawater, and her pale face improved significantly.
Her long eyelashes fluttered, and Aimee slowly opened her eyes.
"You're awake at last!" Martin grinned as he saw Aimee's face regain its color and her eyes open.
Aimee heard Martin's words and fixed her eyes on him, a hint of confusion on her face. Gradually, she remembered that someone had pulled her ashore from the sea.
"Was it you who saved me just now?" Aimee asked, her voice was light and pleasant, yet carried a hint of coldness.
Martin didn't mind Aimee's cold tone, as her nickname "Ice Queen" was well-earned.
"That's right, I was the one who pulled you ashore just now!" Martin nodded and smiled, feeling much better than before.
Martin had been alone on this deserted island, but now things were different; he had a companion.
And this companion was the campus belle of their department.
"Thank..." Aimee's icy tone softened as she began to thank Martin.
But in the next moment, Aimee suddenly felt a strange tingling sensation in her chest. When she looked down, her expression immediately turned icy.
Because she found Martin's hand pressing on her chest.
"What do you think you're doing, you shameless scoundrel!" Aimee glared at Martin with icy anger.
Initially grateful to Martin for saving her, Aimee now saw him as a shameless scoundrel.
Realizing his hands were still on her chest, Martin snapped out of it.
He quickly withdrew his hands from Aimee's chest, stood up and stepped back.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I was trying to help you because you were choking on water, so I was a bit intrusive!" Martin explained repeatedly.
But Martin's explanation did not change Aimee's impression of him; she continued to glare at him with cold anger.
After several minutes, Aimee slowly withdrew her gaze.
Her eyes turned to the sea where the sun was setting, and her expression suddenly fell into deep thought, mixed with a sense of panic and unease.
Keeping his distance, Martin watched Aimee withdraw her gaze and sat down, confusion mirrored on his face.
Martin was well aware of what Aimee was thinking.
Stranded on this vast, deserted island, they had no idea where they were, and escaping seemed a distant possibility.
