“Where’s Blythe?” I asked the leader of our group. Blythe is the only person I know but now she’s gone too. She has been helping me with some of the assignments from our pre-law classes and now I couldn’t see her in the classroom. Actually, I haven’t seen her in days. The leader—I think her name is Tia—looked at me and sighed. Sadness is evident in her expression. “Didn’t you know? Blythe filed a leave of absence.” I narrowed my eyes at her. Why would a top student file a leave of absence in the middle of the semester? “Do you have an idea why?” For a moment I feel so guilty because I haven’t spoken to her in weeks and now she’s not here anymore.
