Clayton pulled me to the parking lot. I looked at him, questioning. “Where are we going?” I asked. I know I sound reluctant but I know for a fact that I have no power over my emotions right now. I will follow what he’s going to tell me without him forcing me to. He smiled and shrugged before leading me to his car. He leaned me on his Corvette and trapped me in between his arms. He looked deep in my eyes as he inched closer to my face. “Do you want to see the pier at night?” he asked. I have never been to the Navy Pier at night. I have loved going there when I was a kid because of the tourist spots and also because we get to meet people from all walks of life all over the world. It’s what I love the most—meeting people.
