CHAPTER FIVE Joey postponed the filming of her third movie twice. He’d told Trina to pass on the message to Randi. Regardless of the delay, Joey expected Randi to be at the warehouse when he was finally ready to do the shoot. She’d heard his voice over the telephone as he talked to Trina, the black girl slouching on one hip, looking bored and annoyed as the man babbled on. When Trina finally hung up the phone, she delivered the message Randi already heard. “Postponed, hon,” Trina said. “But he wants you there tomorrow.” Randi’s anger surfaced fast. “Right.
