Why are you up?" "Why are you up?" She replied, stressing the you. "I was working." He shrugged. "You?" She contemplated telling him. It was something she always did, back in split moon. She looked at him. its just Evander. Even if its a taboo, he'll let her get away with it. "I was hungry." He laughed a little. "Well, I am too. That's what brought me out." She released a breath she didn’t realize she was holding and smiled at him, meeting his eyes. She was standing a bit higher, since his office was downstairs and he saw her coming down the stairs. Their eyes met, and he held her gaze. They stayed like that for sometime, before she broke the gaze and looked away. He cleared his throat, trying to clear the tension in the room. "What do you want? There should be pizza, maybe some...I don’t know, waffles, ice cream? Do you take fruit juice? Or do you stick to meat only diet?" She laughed. "No, I want ice cream. Chocolate." She said and he smiled. "My favorite." He ushered her to the dining, drew out a seat for her and put it back after she sat, then went to the fridge in the kitchen that was just adjacent to the dining. He brought back two ice cream bowls, went back and came back with some chocolate bars, fruits and waffles. "You have an appetite." She said, nearly choking on her laughter. "Well, I’m sharing it with you." He laughed, set out the table, before he went back, brought in a fondue pot, filled with melted chocolate, and some marshmallows, strawberries and biscuits. Last, he brought in a jar of milk and two cups. She just watched him, amusement in her eyes, and once he sat down, she pointed towards the clock. " do you realize what time it is?" He took a moment to look up at it before returning back to arranging and putting stuff in front of her. "4:17 a.m. yeah?" She laughed. "Nothing." "I like your laughter. Try doing it more." He said and handed her a spoon. She took it and looked down, remembering things she would rather put aside right now. "You are alright." He said and pushed an ice cream bowl to her. She smiled at him, and took a spoon full. "Its nice." She smiled gratefully and he winked at her, feeling flighty. "Bella?" She looked up. "Tell me more about you." She raised a questioning brow and he quickly added. "Not the relationships, family, no, not all that. I want to learn about you. I want to understand your person." He said, trying to make it sound normal, like he was checking a the weather and not trying to know the workability of her heart so he could maneuver his way into it. "Well," she shrugged. "I don’t really know. Maybe you'll learn the longer you are with me." She said, slipping the last part as a bait, and seeing how his eyes lit up and his lips parted in a happy smile, she knew she had him. "I am looking forward to it." And on a small voice, added. "More than you'll ever know." He told her about his first heartbreak, when he turned eighteen, and his girlfriend of one year then, broke up with him, saying she never liked him, and just him to pass time till her mate came. " it hurt then, but I got over it." He shrugged. "You still haven’t found your mate?" "Uhmm" was the only reply, as he stuffed his mouth with ice cream. "How old are you?" He looked up at her. "20." He did look like a twenty year old, just more beautiful, understanding, forgiving...gullible and maybe even naive. But maybe it was because of their different environments. "I think I’m mateless." He sighed. "Yeah, maybe I am too." He paused then said "Honestly....there is this person. She's everything I want in a wife and a mate, and everything the pack needs as a Luna. But i don’t really know her that well." "Hm." Was all she answered to that, and without minding her disinterest, he kept on rambling, telling her some of the funniest, emotions, unforgettable memories of his childhood, and his life in general. She only watched in silence as he unraveled himself to her, and it became even more evident that when she was prepared to leave, she could be able to make him let her go. "Bella?" She looked at him calmly, trying to mask that she had actually been lost in her thoughts. "Why don’t you go to sleep. "Its six now, and I want to complete some work." She nodded silently, and started to walk away, before he called her back. " don’t miss me too much." He said and winked at her, but he was still the person that blushed. She gave a half smile, walked up and tucked herself in his room, one that he had given to her, and kept her eyes open. How would she sleep with a crowded mind?
