And so began the long days and weeks of Luca being away from him. There came a point where he wasn’t certain if Luca was in Sydney, Melbourne, Fiji, or Tahiti. Occasionally, Luca would return home for a few days, or Duncan would get a short phone call from his weary lover. Sometimes, a postcard arrived to remind him where Luca was. But more often than not, there were just long, lonely stretches of time without his beloved mechanic.
