The leaves are in tune with the strong wind blowing as if they were feeling the danger Mireya was facing.
"Run as fast as you can, human." he heard the creature taunts from behind her.
Mireya isn't sure how long and how much she ran, but her legs and thighs are burning. But she did not stop as she tried to escape them. Laughter coming from the demons that followed her could be heard around the forest. She is also quickly swallowed up by the fear of what might happen to her once they catch up with her. The stories she heard about them were enough for Mireya to fear for her life.
But in a hurry, Mireya did not see a protruding root and tripped. She cried out when her knees hit the ground, but still tried to crawl forward using her elbows. She could feel their presence behind her.
