Callista's Point of View
My heart pounded in my chest as Ice's cold stare penetrated my very being. There was something off about him, something unsettling that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I had expected him to understand, to see the sincerity in Kevin's apology and our conversation. But instead, his eyes flickered with anger and suspicion.
"Ice, please listen," I began, my voice trembling slightly. "Kevin and I just talked. He apologized, and we cleared things up. There's nothing more to it."
Ice's sneer deepened, his lips curling with disdain. "Talked? Cleared things up?" he scoffed. "You expect me to believe that, after everything that's happened? I know what's going on here, Calli. You think you can fool me, but I see right through it."
