BLAKE SPENT FRIDAY doing interviews with a host of reporters the team had lined up. I watched a few, but they were mostly asking the same questions, and half of them weren’t speaking in English. With the use of a translator, everything took twice as long, and even Blake looked to be getting fidgety.
In the end, he handed his keys over to Lexi. “Why don’t you two go home? I’ll hitch a lift back later with Brandon.”
“Fab! We can start getting ready for the party tonight.”
I looked at my watch. It was only one o’clock. “That gives us six hours.”
“Yes, I know. It’ll be cutting it fine, but I reckon I can get you in good shape by then. I even picked up some hot wax while I was out yesterday.”
