CHAPTER 16 THE NEXT DAY was Monday, and I knew from talking to Lexi that there was a week’s break from racing until the pre-race scrutineering the following Sunday. That gave the teams time to make last-minute tweaks to the cars as well as catch up on some much-needed sleep. “What do you have planned for this week?” I asked Blake as I sat down opposite him with my first cup of coffee of the day. “There’s some setup work to do on the car, plus our daily team meetings. And we’ve got a photoshoot on Wednesday.” “A photoshoot? What kind of photoshoot?” “Advertising pictures for the team’s merchandise, mainly. Plus a few calendar shots.” I couldn’t help laughing. “Don’t look at me like that.” “So, these calendar shots, will they involve clothing?” “To some degree. At least, I hope so.”
