Chapter 18-19

The mission is to gain trust and respect.

Ariel

The next morning, I tried to get out of Ryder's embrace without waking him up and I managed it. I went to the bathroom to check my face and saw almost no sight of yesterday’s incident. I quickly changed into everyday clothes. I decided to wear comfy black underwear and black leggings with a grey dress t-shirt and left a note to Ryder saying I went down the kitchen to grab some breakfast. It was very early, just 6 am, even I was surprised at how lively was barely after 5 hours of sleep. I found the kitchen and it was empty but with full fridges. Eric and Matthew explained to me that the pack's cook prepares a lot of food every morning for them and the same happens with lunch and dinner. The pack had two cooks this week it was Maggie's turn. I saw her yesterday she was a little fat but very kind looking middle-aged woman with short brown hair and glasses. I decided to surprise her and everybody else. I got my phone and plugged on my earphones. I choose some of my favorite Spanish hits to a playlist and started to cook and dance a little in the meantime. I really enjoyed being alone for a while. I was preparing some boiled eggs and fried bacon. I also made lots of pancakes and waffles. I was listening to Carlos Baute and Marta Sánchez's song Te sigo pensando, while I squeezed some fresh orange juice and made lots of coffee and tea. I was shaking my hips to the rhythm of the music and also made some salsa steps. This is how I made the breakfast. I got lost in the music and with the cooking so I haven't noticed dancing around the kitchen that Maggie was standing at the kitchen's door staring at me. The music changed and I softly sang along with it ( Carlos baute - Te regalo)

Yo lo lograría para que me ames...”- at that moment I finally realized that I've been watched. I turned off the music and we were staring at each other with Maggie.

- Excuse me Ariel... I didn't want to interrupt I just came to do my job but it looks like you preceded me.

- I'm really sorry! - I didn't know if she was angry - I just wanted to help you so you could sleep a little more - she came to me and gave me a big hug.

- Thank you very much, I indeed slept well. My alarm didn't sound - Maggie lifted her head and said.

- Ryder is coming down and it looks like he is in hurry - I stared at Maggie while we started to put out the plates and cutlery.

- How do you know?

- I hear his steps. -that moment the kitchen door slammed in and Ryder stared at me.

- Good morning! You arrived just in time! The breakfast is ready. - He was scared? Ryder shared a look with Maggie who went out of the kitchen after that. Ryder came to me and gave me such a big hug I almost couldn't breathe.

- Ryder you are choking me - He loosened his hug a little.

- Never do this to me again!

- What? Prepare breakfast?

- No! I woke up and you were nowhere!

- Ryder chill a little bit I left you a note!

- Where?

- ON the door of the bedroom from the inside. I told you I came down to make breakfast.

- I haven't seen it. It probably fell down. Sorry. - he kissed me and a few pack members started to come in. The kitchen was also a canteen so they had their breakfasts there. For the sight of me kissing Ryder Eric coughed.

- Guys we can come back later - Ryder let his hold, it felt a little bad by the way because I could've been in his arms all day.

- No need. Please come in and serve yourselves - he said and more people arrived slowly. They started to eat when Maggie came back. A young boy, who yesterday shared some angry and mistrustful looks with me, turned to her and said.

- Maggie you really proved your skills today, I mean your dishes are always very delicious but this breakfast is heavenly! - a few other people agreed with the little boy when Maggie said.

- Thanks a lot child but the compliments are for our soon-to-be Luna , Ariel, she made this all by herself. - Everybody looked at me with admiration and a few of them even with remorse in their eyes.

- Thank you, Luna, I admit I misjudged you yesterday. I thought you were a gold digger like lots of humans- the young boy said and Ryder's eyes turned to black. The rest of the pack members noticed that Ryder was getting mad so they tried to make the little boy shut up before something happens. But they couldn't manage it on time. Ryder grabbed the back of the boy's neck and he dragged him in front of me, shook him, and screamed at him.

- How do you dare to be so irreverent with your future Luna?! - I shared a look with Eric and Matt to stop Ryder but they agreed with his acts. The boy's pupils narrowed and his face showed dread.

- I i ...I - he tried to speak but Ryder's hold tightened on his neck and made him cry. I looked at Ryder trying to get his glance but all his attention was at the boy. He screamed and growled at him.

- SAY SOMETHING PUP! - that was enough. He showed his power, they are afraid of him and respect him. But the Ryder I love is not this violent. I put my hand on his hand which was holding the boy's neck. Everybody immediately looked at me. I slowly started to peel off Ryder's fingers from the boy's neck who was crying very hard now. I put my other hand on Ryder's face and forced him to look at me. His eyes turned back from black to clear blue.

- Ryder, let him go, this is not necessary. - he let him go like I was controlling him. The boy fell to the floor and Ryder just stared at me as I kneel down next to the boy.

- Are you okay? - he was catching for breath. I smiled at him and forced him gently to look into my eyes, then in a demanding but gentle voice, I said.

- Hey listen, deep and slow breaths okay? - he nodded and started breathing with me. Basically, all the pack was looking at me without moving.

-Are you feeling better? - finally, he nodded. I got up and brought him some orange juice, he drank it and looked in my eyes.

 - Thank you - he said. - Thank you Luna and I'm really sorry - I stopped him.

- First of all, call me Ariel, and this goes for everyone. I'm not Luna yet. - Ryder shared me a little irritated look but I grimaced at him and he smiled. Second, you don't have to ask sorry for something you thought of me. You don't know me or trust me yet but I will work to change your mind and everyone's who have an erroneous idea about me - he smiled at me and he held out his hand to me. I grabbed it and we shook hands.

- My name is Thomas and I accept you as my future Luna. Welcome to the Full Moon pack Ariel. - He then gave me a bear hug and some of the other members joined him. But a lot stayed still and they considered my act fake or just weak. They were on Chloe's side that she would be better to be their Luna.

Later in our room…

- What you did today in the morning was amazing I've never seen a Luna so down to Earth - Ryder said while he was snuggling with me on the couch.

- Lots of them still think that my actions are fake. Or that I'm weak for showing mercy. - Ryder looked at me and asked.

- How do you know that?

- I just saw it in their eyes and the way they avoid me in the corridor. I still have a lot of work to do. - I became a little sad, I wanted to be perfect for my duties.

- Hey, don't be upset, this is only your second day with us! And you shouldn't try to earn their respect, they should respect you for the single reason simply because you are my Mate.

- I don't want them to respect me for being yours. And by the way, I'm not your mate in their eyes.

- If you would let me mark you.- he said in a low and almost husky voice full of lust. He started to give lots of little kisses on the side of my neck. - They will not have a choice. - I pulled myself on top of Ryder caressing his hair and said.

- I know you want that, I want it too, but let’s give them some time. I'm not one of your kind.

- You are so pure, Ariel. So lovely with a caring heart. I don't know what I did to deserve you -he said and got up from the bed. He went to his night table and brought a little box to me.

- Ariel Cenke - OH MY GOD? Is he asking my hand? I'm not ready yet!

 - Will you please wear this ring as a symbol of you being mine? - he showed me a beautiful silver ring with a little black stone in it.

- Did you buy a silver ring? – I asked shocked, he smiled and gave it to me with the box.

 -Yes my two weaknesses together. - I put the ring on my finger, it fitted perfectly. I had an idea! I ran to my bag and got out transparent nail polish. I pulled off the ring from my finger. Ryder came and hugged me from my back.

- What are you doing?

- Well, I don't want to burn you accidentally with this so I'm covering it.

- Is this working? - I waited for the ring to dry and pulled on my finger.

- There is only one way to find out. - I held my hand to Ryder who lifted it up to his face.

- Yes this is working - he said.

- Thank you for it, I will cherish it and never take it off! -he kissed me.

- You have to wear it just until I finally mark you! -and he bit my neck a bit but just teasing. I pulled him down and bit his neck at the spot where he should mark me. His eyes got black and full of lust. He stepped one further and said.

- Ariel Run!

Ryder

 I ran after Ariel, started to chase her around the room. I giggled and she stumbled on the carpet falling to the bed facing down. I jumped on her and whispered to her ear with lust.

- Mine! - she laughed and made me very horny by moving under me trying to escape. I held back myself and said.

- No way, there is no escape this time Roo.

- Actually…- I let her face me. - I don't want to escape. - she looked deeply into my eyes, grabbed the back of my neck, and pulled me to her. Our lips met in a very hot kiss and a moan escaped from my mouth. I thought that she may give herself to me now, but I couldn't be more wrong. She started tickling me and I fell off the bed. I peeked my head from the floor and she was kneeling on the bed chuckling.

- You are a very sneaky girl!

- What can I say? There are plenty of surprises in my sleeves.

Chapter 19

Useless

Chloe

- It looks like you got burned with silver. It will take a few days to recover - Sara the pack doctor said. I growled when she left the room.

- That f*****g b***h!

- Sh! Chloe be careful, what if Ryder or any of her guardians are near? They will throw us out without our feet touching the floor.

- Don't be such a p***y, Maria! Ryder is sure not here, he is trying to break Kelly. I mind-linked her to lie but I can't reach her again.

- Probably Ryder noticed that she was talking to someone. Poor Kelly.

- She is fine. We will talk to her tomorrow. - I grabbed my jacket and we headed back to the packhouse.  Maria followed me to my room and after that, she went to sleep in hers. I sat down on my bed and mind-linked at my uncle.

- Hey are you awake?

- Sure Princess. What’s up?

- Well... Ryder found his mate and she is a human! A little pathetic human who thinks more of herself than what she really is. I tried to attack her and that b***h slapped me with silver in her hands. Now my face has a big scar...

- Poor baby! But this is good news at least you are finally coming home!

- Uncle I will not become a rouge. This is my home and I didn't give up yet! I just need a better plan.

- I think I can help you with your revenge and even get something of it for myself as well.

- I'm all ears.

- Try to get on her good side, and show  Ryder that you care for his little mate. When you think she trusts you, call me again and we will manage to get rid of her.

- Okay I'll do my best, thanks, uncle!

- Your welcome princess! -I fall asleep with a big smile on my face. She will disappear! I will be the Luna of this pack and I will rule with Ryder! The next morning in the canteen Kelly acted very strangely. We sat together with those wolves that still think of Ariel like a burden.

- Kelly how it go yesterday with Ryder? - Maria asked her but she avoided our glance and just focused on Ariel.

- Hey! Earth calls Kelly! What the hell are you staring at? - I looked to the direction she was staring and saw something actually cool that will make my plan a lot easier than I first imagined.

-Shh…I'm trying to hear Maggie! - she said and we tipped our ears as well. Someone thanked the breakfast for Maggie which was indeed the best one she has ever made.

She is not worth touching him! But Ryder calmed down totally at her touch. f**k.

- Ryder, let him go, this is not necessary - she said but without even raising her voice and Ryder like a good dog let him go. Like she was controlling him. The boy fell to the floor and Ryder just stared at Ariel. We waited if he was going to scream at her or hit her for going against his will. But he kept motionless. He followed the slut's every move with his beautiful eyes. She kneed down the floor next to the boy.

A moment ago Ryder was ready to kill this boy for not showing respect for the human and now she is helping  Tom to recover from the shock. I glanced at Kelly she was smiling. Why is she smiling? This human is weak she shows mercy this is not power!

-Are you feeling better? - he nodded, she got up and brought him some orange juice, he drank it and looked in her eyes like she was sort of a superhero.

 - Thank you- he said. - Thank you, Luna, and I'm sorry - she stopped him:

But a lot stayed still and they considered her act fake or just as a sign of weakness. They were on my side I have to play my cards well while I'm trying to get on this b***h's good side.
