CHAPTER 6: Handsome Pizza Dude

4027 Words
Lily's POV:   I found myself wandering in the woods and it was already dark. I was holding a flashlight and it felt like I was looking for someone or something, I wasn’t so sure. I could feel my body shiver from the coldness of the foggy woods I was in, and also from fear of the unknown.   "W-where are you?" I yelled, stuttering from anxiety while my voice echoed through the woods. I continued walking in the dark, just using the flashlight I was holding. I heard owls hooting and crows rattling everywhere. I felt like I was in a freaking horror movie.   Where the hell was I?   Then I heard approaching footsteps from behind. Judging from its sound, it doesn't sound so friendly—more like petrifying. Without even glancing from behind, I ran like crazy for my dear life.   What the hell is happening right now? Why am I in the woods in the first place? Why is someone freaking following me?! And why am I running away from him or her?!   As I ran, these thoughts came into my mind. Suddenly, I stumbled over a big root and fell to the ground.   "Sh*t," I cussed. I groaned as I tried to stand back up. I could sense my knees bleed as I started to feel the pain. I heard the footsteps from behind now walking towards me. I heard a scary chuckle and I could sense he was grinning wickedly at me.   I slowly turned around to face the devil that’s been following me as my heart thumped hardly against my chest.   "Hello, Lily," Chucky grinned wickedly at me. And he was holding a freaking knife! Chucky's going to kill me! He's going to kill me! Help! "Miss me?" he sneered.   "Aaahhh," I screamed at the top of my lungs while the ugly freak, Chuck, was laughing mischievously at me.   "Lily! Lily!" a voice called and Chucky suddenly vanished in thin air. All I could see now was pitch black. I was not in the woods anymore. It was just all dark, and I could hear a voice calling my name continually while shaking my body. "Lily, wake up!"   Then someone slapped me on the face. I croaked as I slowly opened my eyes and found Matt Austin sitting next to me on my bed.   I blinked slowly a few times as my vision adjusted. And when realization hit me, my eyes widened in disbelief.   "What the hell!" I yelled as I pulled the blanket over me and backed away.   "You were having a nightmare," he said in a concerned tone.   "And you slapped me on the face?!" I exclaimed, feeling the discomfort and sting on my left cheek because of his slap.   How rude.   "It was because you wouldn’t wake up and you were freaking screaming!" he exclaimed back. He sighed, "I thought something happened to you."   I narrowed my eyes at him because of the change of expression he had on his face. Was he worried for real? Or was he acting like he's worried when he’s really not? I'm not really sure because Matt Austin is really good in acting fake, you know.   "Go back to sleep," he said as he stood up.   I looked at the window and realized that it was still dark outside.   "What time is it?" I mumbled, now in a calmer manner. I don't know why but I felt guilty that I just yelled at him when he looked like he was really worried about me.   "Its 3o'clock in the morning," he replied. "You should go back to sleep now. We still have school tomorrow."   I replied with a nod and he walked his way out towards the door.   "By the way," he said before closing the door. "The secret to having sweet dreams at night is thinking about me before going to sleep. Trust me, it works every time." Then he flashed me wink before closing the door.   "Huh," I snorted while a small smile crawled its way to my lips, "Still a jerk after all."   I don't know why but now, I feel safer. When I opened my eyes and saw Matt Austin's face, my fear suddenly disappeared and my heart came back to its natural speed. I may sound dumb but a part of me was thankful that Matt Austin was the one who woke me up.   I must be crazy, I thought as I shook my head to release my thoughts.   Hold on, he's the reason why I had a nightmare! He brought up Chucky in the first place! Ugh, get a grip of yourself, Lily!   *****     Matt's POV:   "Morning, mom," I greeted as I entered the kitchen.   "Good morning, muffin," mom greeted me back with a kiss on the head then she went back buttering her bread. I took a seat on the kitchen island and grabbed an apple.   "By the way, muffin..." she trailed off, "Your stepbrother will be coming back this Sunday."   "He's coming back?!" I exclaimed in incredulity, almost choked by the apple I just ate. That bastard who broke my favorite toy car will be back again?!   "Yes, and he will be living here until both of you goes off to college," mom stated. Oh, did I forget to mention that mom has a guy that she’s been dating for almost 10 years now, after 3 years dad died? His name is Kian Hall. He's a business man who runs a powerful networking company in the country. But they haven’t tied the knot yet.   He's a very good man and more like a dad to me but his son... his son is a jerk! He—never mind. He's not my real stepbrother anyway, at least not for now.   "Mom, are you crazy? He's not going to live here! You know how much I hate that b*stard!" I retorted feeling livid.   "Language!" mom shouted and shot me a mean-mom look. I shot her back an apologetic look and sighed in response. "Muffin, I know what happened between you and Landon but—"   "Don't," I bellowed, clenching my fists and feeling enraged by the sound of his name.   Mom gave out a sigh, walked towards me, and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Muffin, I know this is hard for you, but you need to work out your relationship with him. You guys were best friends."   "He's not my best friend," I deadpanned with gritted teeth.   Mom sighed, "Whether you like it or not, he will be living here. And that's not your decision to make, Matt. That’s mine. This is still my house and that's final."   I nodded reluctantly in defeat. Whatever I do, I still can't stop mom from letting that b*stard live with us. Why the hell will he come here all the way from California? Goldville is just a small town while Los Angeles is a big city. He should just stay there instead than coming back here to ruin my life again. That *sshole...   Mom walked towards the cupboard and took a cup. "By the way, where is Lily?" she asked as she poured herself some coffee.   I replied with a shrugged.   As if on cue, Lily walked in to the kitchen.   "Good morning, Sofia," she piped brightly, bringing good cheer to the melancholy atmosphere.   Looks like someone's in a good mood.   "Good morning, Lily," mom replied brightly and took a sip of her coffee. "Anyway, I'll leave you two alone. I need to go someplace." Mom left her cup near the sink then she gave Lily a quick hug and a peck for me on the forehead. "I'll be home late. Don't wait up for me," she added then strolled her way out the kitchen.   "Psst," I hissed at Lily who was now eating some grapes. She looked at me with an annoyed expression on her face. "No 'good morning babe' for me?" I said in a high-pitched voice trying to sound like a girl on the ‘good morning babe’ part.   She rolled her eyes and poured herself a glass of water. I chuckled.   "We're going to be late for school," I said in my normal voice. "We need to get going."   "I'm not going to school with you," she snapped and took a sip on the glass of water she was holding.   "So, you don't want a ride?" I asked arrogantly. "Well, I guess you'd rather go to school walking for an hour then."   She sighed in defeat. "Fine," she groaned, walking her way out the kitchen. I smirked and followed her.       Lily's POV:   We arrived at school swiftly, and I went out of his car straightaway before others would notice us coming to school together. I don’t want anyone sending me daggers and glares. So, I ran immediately towards the entrance door of Goldville High then walked my way to the locker section to get my books.   The bell rang right on cue when I arrived in my first class which was History. I took my usual seat at the back near the window. My face frowned as I noticed the windows covered with blinds.   I guess I won't be able to enjoy the view outside today.   I rested my head on my arm chair and closed my eyes while waiting for our History teacher. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night so I still felt sleepy.   "The room looks dark, don't you think?" a very irritating yet familiar voice blurted out.   Am I hallucinating? Why am I hearing that jerk's voice right now?   "Ignoring me, hunny bunny?" Matt Austin's voice again echoed in my ear. I groaned in irritation.   I heard our History teacher come in, but he didn't utter any word. Instead, he just played a video about the World War II. I opened my eyes, tilted my head upward, and glanced at our teacher who was now sleeping just like most of the students in this class. I giggled at the thought of him hating his job. He has always been like this ever since he started his teaching career in Goldville High. But the thing we all like about this old man was the fact that he never fails his students.   Someone cleared his throat beside me. I whipped my head to the side and my eyes widened when I saw Matt freaking Austin occupying the chair beside mine which was never occupied by any student before.   "Surprised?" he smirked.   "What are you doing here?" I mumbled indistinctly. "You're not in my History class."   He leaned towards me and whispered, "Starting today, I'll be taking the same schedule as you."   "What?" I muttered in disbelief. "You can't just change your sched!"   "I'm Matt Austin," he said smirking as he leaned back to his chair. "I can change my schedule anytime I want."   "Huh," I snorted quietly. "You've got to be kidding me."   "Now I get to spend a lot of time with you. Isn't this exciting?" he mumbled smugly and winked at me.   No. It's not exciting, AT ALL.   I scoffed at him and slammed myself on my arm chair.   Ugh, he's everywhere, I groaned.   *****   The weekdays passed by in a flash. And Matt Austin was everywhere. I got to see his butt face every hour in my everyday life ever since he changed his schedule. He always pissed me off at school and even when we were at home. He thinks everything was so funny and entertaining.   However, thankfully, he never treated me as a slave just like he did to his previous lucky girlfriends. Well, not yet.   Right now, I just woke up on a sunny Saturday morning because of a loud bang I heard on my door. I grabbed the clock sitting on the table beside my bed. It was still 7 in the morning. I squirmed my body on the bed as I groaned in irritation while the loud knock on my door continued.   Who in the world wakes up early on a Saturday morning?!   I lifted my body up and stretched my arms out while yawning. I scratched the back of my head in annoyance as the knock got louder and louder. I jumped out of my bed and trudged down towards the door, wearily. My eyes were not even wide open. I was still half asleep.   "What?" I groaned as I opened the door.   "Good morning, cupiecake," Matt Austin grinned at me brightly.   "What do you want now?" I whined as I scratch the back of my head, annoyed.   "Aww, don't be so grumpy," he cooed cheekily. Then he stepped aside saying, "Today, you'll start your role as my pet-girlfriend." He gestured to the house cleaning materials on the hall. There I saw a mop, a pail of water, a pair of gloves, a brush, a vacuum and so on. I blinked my eyes three times just to make sure that my eyes were not deceiving me.   "Are y-you f-freaking k-kidding me?!" I stammered as I gritted my teeth in disbelief.   "Clean the whole house," he commanded, smirking. "You can start cleaning in my room."   "Wait, you have 5 housemaids! Why should I clean the whole house all by myself?"   "Because I gave them a day off and mom took the first flight to Europe an hour ago. She told me that she's sorry for not properly saying goodbye to you," he replied smugly and his evil smirk started to crawl its way to his lips. "And that means..." he trailed off, "It's only me," he said pointing at himself as he slowly walked towards me, "And you," he continued, now pointing at me, "Together alone... in this house."   Now our faces were inches away. I was stupefied for a moment. My heart skipped a beat as he tucked some strand of my hair behind my ear.   "But before you start cleaning," he said as he slowly backed his face away from mine. "Take a shower. Your morning breath stinks." He smiled sheepishly then straightway went inside his room that was just across mine, and slammed the door.   My eyes widened in shock. “How dare you!” I exclaimed in incredulity. I don't have a bad morning breath!   I breathed on the palm of my hand and sniffed it. Dang, he's right. I felt my face flush in embarrassment. I placed my palms on my cheeks and groaned in disgust.   This is so embarrassing! Ugh!   After I took a shower and brushed my teeth, I dressed myself and went directly to the young master's bedroom. I knocked on the door three times before he told me to come in. When I entered the room, I was greeted by the brightness of its interior. The floor, ceiling, and the wall were all white. There was a part of the wall which was painted with a dark color; it kind of looked like some tone of gray. Then there was a green rug that looked like a grass and I was so tempted to sit on it.   His big dresser was attached to the wall and it is also painted in dark color. There was a white acoustic guitar and a black electric guitar placed near his white sofa. There was also a white piano placed on the other side of the room. He had a single sized bed with white sheets and a black blanket with black and green pillows on it. His room had a modern white-gray-green motif. It looked really neat, clean, and cool to be honest.   "Wow," I said in astonishment. "I didn't expect your room to look like this."   "What do you mean?" he asked while flipping the next page of the magazine he was reading as he sat on his bed with his back leaned against the headboard.   "I thought your room would look messy," I assumed while placing the pail of water on the floor. He chuckled in reply. I walked towards the white piano and pushed a key. I giggled as the sound echoed in the room. This is so cool. "Do you play?" I asked as I touched random keys on the piano.   "Nah," he replied shrugging. "It's just part of the interior."   I frowned at his reply. It would be so cool if he played though. I walked towards the guitars and picked up the acoustic one. I strummed the strings of the guitar even though I didn't know how to play it. "Do you play guitar?" I asked while placing the acoustic guitar back to its place.   "Still part of the interior," he shrugged. I frowned again. "Anyway," he trailed off as he closed the magazine he was reading. "Why don't you just start cleaning and stop talking."   I shot him a glare and complained, "Um, excuse me stupid. There's nothing to clean in this room! Everything looks neat and clean and not to mention, white!"   "I don't care. Clean it," he ordered and went out of his bed. He walked towards the door saying, "I'll be at the stairs, eating. When you finish cleaning my room, clean the stairs afterwards." Then he went out the door and closed it. I groaned in frustration.   Why would he eat at the stairs? Why not eat at the kitchen?   I picked up the mop in exasperation and started mopping his already clean floor. I'll surely get back to you on this, Matt Austin. Just wait for it. Ugh, this is going to be a horrible Saturday.   After cleaning his already clean room, I picked up the house cleaning materials and headed my way out the door. When I walked down the stairs, I halted as my eyes widened in rage seeing Matt Austin sitting at the end of the stairs, eating while reading a book using his fake nerdy glasses. I was full of wrath when I detected all the messy food scattered on the stairs and on the floor. There were chips, popcorns, and other junk food everywhere!   Just great.   "Matt Austin!" I screamed in fury. He jerked off a bit from where he sat which caused him to spill his drink on the floor. Ugh. I heard him curse under his breath.   "What the hell have you done here?!" I yelled.   "Eating," he responded sarcastically as he put his attention back to the book he was reading.   "You did this on purpose, did you?!" I bellowed as I stomped down the stairs almost tripping because of the mess. Thankfully, I didn't. I heard him chuckle under his breath. It made me even more furious. My blood was now boiling and I wanted to slice off the head of that monstrous jerk!   "Start cleaning this mess now," he demanded as he flipped the next page of the book he was still reading.   Huh, you expect me to clean up your mess?!   Seriously, what have I done in my past life that I'm being tortured now by this menace? Ugh!!! I hate his guts!   "How do you expect me to clean when you're blocking my way," I retorted while crossing my arms over my chest.   He closed his book, stood up, and gazed at me, flashing his infamous signature smirk. "Have fun cleaning, Lily bunny," he teased as he walked off. I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth in irritation.   "Aaarrgghhh," I screamed in full anger, kicking the plastic cup away from my feet. I heard Matt Austin chuckle and I sure as hell know that he enjoys torturing me, A LOT.   I so hate that jerk.   *****   I glanced at the modern clock hanging on the wall and it was already 8:52 in the evening. Finally, I have finished all the chores in this mansion. I didn't clean every corner of the house because the house itself was already clean. That jerk was just making me suffer. I gritted my teeth at the thought of him and his stupid smirk.   "I will be going to Jay's party tonight," Matt Austin stated as he walked towards the door already dressed up. "You wanna come?"   So, now he wants me to come with him looking like crap after all the cleaning I just did? Is he making fun of me? And I never go to stupid high school parties anyway. They’re just a waste of my time. So, my answer will be no, jerk-faced.   I gazed at him and scoffed in reply.   Dang, he looks so good in that shirt.   Wait, did I just say that? What is wrong with me? He's a jerk, Lily! He's a mean and monstrous jerk! Get a hold of yourself, okay?   He gave out a soft chuckle and said, "See you later, hunny bunny." Then he went out, walking towards his Ferrari. I heard the engine roar and he drove off.   Now I was left alone in this big mansion.   Wait! I'm alone?!   I'm all alone?!   In this mansion?!   Chucky will—oh my b****y goat!   I quickly picked up my phone from my jean's pocket and dialed Jenny's number.   "Hey, Lily," Jenny answered from the other line. I heard the blasting music and people shouting from the background. It seemed like she was at a party.   "Where are you?"   "I just arrived at Jay Anderson's party," she replied all excited. "I got a text message from him this afternoon inviting me to come at his party. I didn't even know how he got my number but I got all excited, so I'm very sorry if I forgot to call you. I was looking for something to wear!"   "Really? Um... it's okay," I replied feeling disappointed. "Well, have fun, Jen."   "What's wrong, Lily?" she asked in a concerned manner. I heard her walk away from the noisy background.   "It's just that..." I trailed off. "I'm all alone here in the mansion."   "Oh my goat, really? Should I go there—"   "No it's okay," I cut her before she could finish talking. "Just have fun there and don't worry about me. I can protect myself from Chucky," I said reassuring her.   "Chucky's not real, Lily," Jenny chuckled in the other line. "Well, call me if something's wrong. I'll be there in a flash."   I smiled and replied, "Sure." Then I ended the call.   Oh my gosh. What should I do now?   "Lily, you're fine. Don't be afraid. You're a strong girl," I whispered to myself as I walked towards the stairs. Then I realized that we have guards at the gate. I'm such a dummy. I'm not alone after all. Now I felt relieved.   Suddenly, my stomach groaned. I'm too tired to cook for dinner so I called for pizza delivery.   I went back to my room and took a fast shower. After I showered, I wore my Hello Kitty pajamas and went back downstairs. I sat on the couch in the open living and turned on the TV while waiting for the pizza dude to arrive. My stomach groaned again.   Where's my pizza now? I'm hungry.   As if on cue, someone knocked on the door.   Yes! My pizza's here! Woop, woop!   I jumped off the couch gleefully as I strolled my way towards the door. "Coming!" I yelled cheerfully.   The pizza dude knocked again.   I frowned, "I said I'm coming."   I opened the door and... Oh my goat.   A very good looking guy with a messy light brown hair and piercing blue eyes stood before me. He was wearing a black shirt under his suit and a pair of black jeans. Nothing ever struck my eyes before until now. My heart thumped loudly through my ears. He glowed with an aura of light as I stared at him in astonishment. He was so handsome.   "Y-you a-are p-pi-piz-za d-dude?" I stuttered in wonderstruck. I could feel my hands shake and my legs getting numb from his presence. I have never seen a guy who looked so dreamy.   A soft smirk crawled its way to his beautiful pinkish lips.   He gave out a soft chuckle as I continued to stare at him dreamily.   "No, I'm Landon." He smiled.
