Chapter Five
Darcie
What the hell had I gotten myself into?
One look out of the darkly tinted windows of Havoc’s truck into the gated courtyard, and I suddenly wasn’t sure whether I would have been better off sticking with my coward of an ex-fiancé and whatever trouble he had gotten me into.
It wasn’t a party as such, but there were a lot of people milling about. Not just bikers either but women.
Women with not many clothes on. All who looked more than comfortable flaunting what their mothers had given them.
I didn’t belong in a place like this.
“Nervous?” Havoc killed the engine.
I didn’t know who had brought the truck to the bar for him or even how he was going to pick up his bike, but I was grateful for it. I wasn’t made for the back of a motorcycle.
“No.” I lied; of course I was nervous. Who wouldn’t be in my situation? I felt like I was about to walk into the lion’s den. Or maybe I was a willing sacrifice, walking to the altar all by myself.
His warm laugh filled the car. “Liar,” Rough fingers tilted my chin up. “What’s making you nervous? Them?” He gave a nod outside, but his eyes didn’t leave mine. “Or being all alone with me in a dark car?”
“The outside bit.” I bit down on my lip, hard. The truth was, he was making me more nervous than the prospect of meeting the men and women outside. There was just something unsettling about being in the close confines of the truck with him. With his cinnamon-scented breath blowing in my face.
“So I don’t make you nervous?” He lowered his face just an inch, his lips hovering over mine. I couldn’t help it, I sucked in a startled breath.
It was hard to concentrate when he was this close. “I think you’re lying.” He was whispering it even though no one could possibly hear us. Sure there were people around, but none within earshot. “I think you’re nervous about what you’re feeling right now, sitting in the dark with a man.”
“I’ve been in a car with a man before Havoc, I’ve even done things in a car with a man… When I was with your...”
His lips slipped over mine, silencing me. And for a second, I could do nothing but let his tongue map the closed line of my mouth. And then I sighed, my lips parting as I kissed him back. The moment my tongue touched his, he pulled away with a small laugh. Leaving me just sat there breathless.
“I knew you wanted me, Darcie.” His grin was white in the darkness as he popped another stick of gum into his mouth.
“You kissed me.”
“And you kissed me back.” He winked. “Again.”
Son of a b***h was enjoying this, enjoying my discomfort. “I was acting. Remember you said I had to act…..”
A sharp rapping on the window caused me to pause, and I turned sharply to find two naked breasts squashed up against the glass. Girly laughter filled the air, and Havoc laughed right alongside it as my mouth opened and closed like a fish.
Had someone really just flashed us seconds after we had been kissing? And was Havoc really acting like it was totally normal behaviour?
I couldn’t help it, I tensed.
What the hell had I gotten myself into?
“Acting, huh?” His fingertip traced my lips, rubbing back and forth. “Well, let’s see how good an actress you are.”
“What do you mean?”
“We have an audience.” The whites of his eyes glinted in the darkness, and I caught sight of the two women who were standing only a few metres from the front of the car. The one who had felt the need to flash the goods had been joined by a friend.
“Girlfriends of yours?” I studied his face, looking for any sign that he was lying to me. But all he did was grin some more, his finger pressed against my lips. “No.”
“Good.” I swiped my tongue over his finger, drawing it into my mouth and sucking on it. If he wanted acting, I would give him god damn acting.
“Jesus, woman.” One hand pulled at my waist, drawing me into his lap. “Jesus.” He tore his fingers away and replaced them with his lips.
His kiss was hungry and desperate and the complete opposite to the small, almost sweet kisses we had shared before. And this time, I didn’t hesitate to kiss him back; I melded my body to his. My breasts pushed against his chest as his hands roved up and down my back. Holding me still and pulling me closer all at the same time.
When I finally pulled away, my lips felt bruised. Swollen and wet. “How was that?” I asked sweetly, ignoring the throbbing between my legs.
“How was what?” His lips brushed against my jawline. And I let my eyes close for a second. Just enjoying the feel of a man’s lips on my skin.
“My acting?”

“It’s good to see you again, Darcie.” Fang’s eyes were unusually glassy as he greeted me. He was acting like we were old friends and that he hadn’t just met me a few hours before. Which was all part of the ruse, I was guessing.
“You as well,” I mumbled. There were too many eyes on me, and it was making me feel uncomfortable.
“I’ve had some of the girls leave some clothes for you until Havoc can take you shopping.” He sucked absently on the cigarette, and for a second, I was mesmerised by the glowing orange end.
“I have my credit card…”
Fang’s eyes darkened.
Oh yeah, I was meant to be in hiding. I was meant to be Havoc’s latest woman. But surely that didn’t mean I couldn’t even pay my own way.
“Havoc.” The woman’s voice was husky. Almost like she was being purposely sexy.
Next to me, I felt Havoc stiffen, staring down at the hand that was pressed against his chest.
“I’ve missed you, baby.”
Was this woman actually for real? Sure, I wasn’t actually with Havoc. Thank god. But she had watched us make out in the truck. It was my waist that his arm was slung around, and she was still hitting on him.
I couldn’t decide whether she was ballsy or just a damn slut.
Fang’s mouth turned up at the corners. He was enjoying this. Just waiting to see what I would do.
“What do you want?” Havoc caught the woman’s hand quickly, pulling it from his chest as she started to trail her fingers downwards.
I didn’t need to ask what she wanted; I already knew.
”Havoc.” She whined. And my own eyes narrowed. She was the girl who had pressed her t**s against the window of his car. Like it was a legitimate way of greeting someone. She hadn’t even done up her neon green bikini top; it hung from her neck like a beacon. Drawing the eyes of her impressive chest. ”I’ve missed you.”
”Go away.”
”But we had so much fun the other night. Come on, sweetheart, don’t you want another taste of me...”
Jesus, was she incapable of taking a hint? Desperation rolled from her in waves.
Aware that Fang’s eyes were still on me, I moved in closer to Havoc’s side. My own hand sliding over his t-shirt, in exactly the same way as hers had just done.
God, his body, was really firm. Like granite under my hand. It was almost distracting.
”I think he said go away, sweetheart.” I mimicked her with a sweet smile—my eyes on her face.
”And who are you?” Her eyes raked over me, and I knew what she saw. I was too well dressed. And it was pretty obvious I didn’t belong here.
But I had a part to play. So play it, I would. And well, because that’s what I did when I put my mind to something. I did it well.
“I’m the woman who…” I let my hand slip lower towards Havoc’s zipper, “...will be screaming Havoc’s name tonight.” I felt foolish even saying it, but it seemed to have the desired effect. Her eyes darkened, uncertainty written on every plane of her face. “The only woman who will be screaming his name.”
“I don’t know who you think you are, but…”
“But nothing darlin’, Havoc has upgraded. He has no interest in skanks like you anymore.”
Fang’s laugh was loud. “Damn.”
I grinned at him.
“Hav…”
God, did the girl never give up? She was like a dog with a bone.
“Baby, fancy taking me to bed?”
Reaching up, I brushed my fingers through the stubble on his face, and he turned to me instantly. His blue eyes dark. “f**k yes.”
“Good.” I rubbed myself against him. Making a show of it. The more believable I made it now, the easier it would be in the long run. “Maybe we can continue what we started in the car?” I rubbed myself up and down his body, but it still came as a shock when his hands came down to grip my ass. He pulled me towards him, rocking his hips into me.
“Baby, you on my c**k is all I can think about,” he mock whispered. And I knew his admirer had heard. Her mouth went slack. “I want you on top so I can watch your t**s bounce.” He carried on, one hand coming up to cup my breast over my gypsy blouse. I couldn’t help it, I sucked in a breath in shock. I had known he would have to touch me, but it still came as a shock. I just hoped they would take it as lust and not surprise.
“Come here.” Strong hands lifted me, giving me no option but to wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his hips. “f**k woman, I cant wait to get you out of your damn clothes.” His lips found mine.
I kissed him back with abandon. Which was strange because I had never really made out with men I didn’t know before. Not until him, of course.
“Take me to bed, Havoc.” I tore my mouth from his. My words were for him, but my eyes landed on her, and I winked.
Which just made Fang laugh even harder. “Have fun, you two crazy kids. Feel free not to keep the noise down. It might turn me on, listening.” More laughter. And I hid my flushed face into the crook of Havoc’s neck.
“Come on you.” Fang closed his hand around the girl’s arm, tugging her away. “Let’s go find you a d**k to suck.”
Jesus.
“Ready for bed ?” Havocs groping hands snapped me back to reality. Kneading my ass with his giant hands, he stalked towards the house with me still wrapped firmly around him. He didn’t pause to talk to anyone else. He just headed straight up the stairs and into the room at the end of a narrow corridor.
“Fuck.” His words were gravelly as he pressed my back against the closed door. And I could feel him press against me through the rough denim of his jeans. He may have been playing a part but what I felt pressed against me was very, very real.
“You can put me down now,” I whispered.
“What do you mean?” Slowly his head lifted. His eyes met mine. He looked confused.
“We’re alone… We don’t need to pretend anymore.” I needed to think with my brain and not with what was throbbing between my legs and the feel of him.
“Pretend?” He dropped me to my feet. “Shit.”
Yeah, my thoughts exactly.
Shit.
Pretending was going to be easy. It was not falling into his bed for real that was going to be the real test.
