My shock ran wild and deep as I realized that this was certainly not what I hoped for.
Even though I had expected that my family would try to force me to marry someone I don't approve of, I didn't expect they would do it on my behalf without my consent.
So hearing the maids and some of the pack elders congratulate me wasn't the best feeling in the world.
Instinctively I turned around to look at my stepmother as if trying to get her to dismiss the news, but a proud cheeky smile lighted her face, making me realize that she may have orchestrated everything.
I was angered by her show of cruelty, why would she think getting a mate for me without my consent was a good idea?
