“Arg. Someone shoot me already,” Aleah growled before none too gently thumping her forehead against the glass of the sliding doors. It was only the first day on the island. And Aleah felt as though it were the longest day of her life. Each second on the clock felt longer than the last. She had no phone to distract herself with. The outside of the house, although beautiful, was as hot as a blazing oven with the sun high up in the sky. Any ideas of walking on the beach or taking a swim in the pool at the back of the house were certainly out of the question. Moreover, she hadn’t slept well last night.
