Carlos
I am trying my best to concentrate on the people Daniel is introducing me to. I wasn’t doing an excellent job of it because my attention keeps falling on Kyla. I can’t help myself; she is so damn gorgeous. She is exactly my type. I like women who are a good few inches shorter than me, which she is. Kyla has curves in all the right places. I prefer women with a little meat on their bones; it gives me something to grab onto. With her long, dark hair and pretty light green eyes, I knew I was in trouble the second I looked at her. If all of those things aren’t enough, add in her confidence, and I am an easy target. I find confidence and feistiness incredibly sexy.
None of it matters, though, because I can’t go there. I have only known Daniel for less than two months, but I know his little sister is off-limits. Some lines shouldn’t be crossed. I believe she knows that, but something tells me it isn’t going to keep her at bay easily. I will be fine as long as I can keep it together while we are because, after today, I probably won’t see much of her.
“Carlos, are you okay? You have gone quiet.” Daniel asks as he takes us over to get a drink.
“Yes, I am fine. Trying to remember everyone’s names.” I lie.
“You will learn throughout the day but don’t worry, we don’t need to socialise with everyone,” he chuckles, “We can sit with Kyla and her friends. There is never a dull moment with those girls.”
No! Bad idea! I hoped to keep my distance. It has been some time since I was instantly attracted to someone.
“Sure,” I smile.
I can’t tell him no without telling him why. It will be fine. I am a thirty-three-year-old man, not some horny teenage boy. I can keep my hormones in check.
“What do you want?” he asks, pointing at the many options.
“Hmm, a beer will be fine for me to start.”
I will have something a little stronger once I have had food. We stroll over to the table where the girls are.
“Can we join you?” Daniel asks.
“Eww, no. I don’t want you cramping my style, bro.” Kyla teases.
Daniel flips her off and sits beside one of her friends. I looked around to see where there was a free seat, and the only one was next to Kyla. I should have known. Her eyes met mine, and she patted the spot next to her, a devilish little smile on her lips. Daniel is too busy talking to her friends to notice. I nod, smile and sit next to her. The second I do, her scent tickles my nose. She smells of coconut and some brand of perfume; whatever it is, she smells incredible.
Kyla introduced me to her friends.
“Are you single and straight? Asking for a friend? I am a married woman.” Claire laughs.
I laugh loudly at her bluntness, “Yes, to both.”
“What friend are you asking for?” Daniel questions, looking at her suspiciously.
“I lied. I was curious. Sorry, not sorry.” She snickers.
I have a feeling she was asking for Kyla, but she couldn’t tell Daniel that. Daniel shakes his head at her, and she shrugs it off. The conversation seems to flow easily after. There isn’t any awkwardness amongst us. I feel at ease. However, it isn’t easy for me to try to keep my focus off Kyla, but I can’t allow Daniel to see me acting differently towards his little sister.
Just as I thought things were going okay, a hand lands on my knee under the table. I fling my head around to look at her, but she is looking at her friends, not me. I watch her lips curl into a smirk. She must sense my eyes on her. Her hand travels from my knee to my thigh, and she rests it there.
I shift in my seat, not sure how I should react. Do I remove her hand? Ignore it? I choose not to do anything; she will remove it herself, eventually.
“I need another drink. Does anyone want on?” Daniel asks, standing.
Claire did, and he left to get them. I make sure he is out of view and earshot before I swing around to Kyla.
“What are you doing?” I whisper.
She brings herself around so we are facing one another.
“What do you mean? I am not doing anything,” she answers sweetly.
“Yes, you do. Are you trying to get me killed?”
“Drama queen much?” she teases and pulls her hand back.
I chuckle, “I am not a drama queen. You know it is the truth.”
Kyla tilts her head to the side and crosses her arms over her chest, “Tell me, if you weren’t my brother’s friend, how would you be reacting towards me? And, please, be honest, no bullshit, we aren’t children.”
I love how upfront she is. I think about the answer but don’t say anything and look at her friends. I don’t want to answer in front of them.
“Um, we will go somewhere else for a minute.” Claire snickers.
They leave the table.
“Now, will you answer my question?”
I put my attention back on her, and she stares at me intensely, waiting for my answer.
“I would enjoy the attention and give you the same attention.”
She wants honesty; I will give her it.
“Meaning, you are attracted to me, and if you weren’t friends with my brother, you would come home with me if I asked?”
She speaks each word with confidence, not hesitant ever for a second. I swallow hard, and my c**k throbs in my boxers, even just with the idea of it.
“Yes,” I answer simply.
“Mmm, good to know. Something you should know about me, Carlos, is that I have a way of getting what I want.” She purrs and squeezes my thigh.
“Which means?”
“If I want you, no matter if you are a friend of my brother’s, I will get you.”
She winks, licks her lips, quickly gets to her feet and walks away. I watch after her like a lost puppy. I don’t know if she has a plan or is messing with me; either way, I need to be careful. I can’t go there, yet something tells me Kyla will be nearly impossible for me to resist if she tries hard enough. She can’t do much with everyone around, right? It would be too risky.
I am not a dull man, far from it. I like to break the rules and take risks, but not if there is a chance of it ruining a friendship, no matter how badly I find myself wanting Kyla. s**t just got complicated. Maybe I should try to keep my distance.
Daniel comes back, “Everything okay? You seem a little flushed.”
I nod, “I am fine, just warm is all.”
It is warm today, so my excuse will work.
“Where did the girls go?”
“I have no idea. I am sure they will be back soon.” I smile.
Daniel nods and retakes his seat. I scan the room, trying to find Kyla, but I can’t seem to find her. She couldn’t have gone far. I sigh, run my fingers through my hair and stop looking.
It is going to be a difficult day.
