Chapter 7“You’re kidding,” Marshall said, when Neil told him the next morning about the hidden room. “Have you looked in the boxes yet?” “No. Hell, I only got up a few minutes ago. I was fixing breakfast when you showed up.” “I thought I smelled bacon.” Marshall trailed after Neil, stopping long enough to check out the floors. “You did a great job,” he said when he got to the kitchen. “Thanks. You want something to eat? I’ve got plenty of eggs and bacon at the moment.” “No thanks. I ate before I left the house.” Marshall leaned against the counter, watching Neil as he took the bacon out of the pan, broke two eggs into it, and put bread in the toaster.
